Those moving on in the summer

1021

I’ve always cautioned against judging a player who has been out for an extended period but being hooked at halftime last night looks like an ominous sign for Derk Boerrigter, who sparkled for 30 minutes on his debut against Ross County earlier in the season but has come nowhere close to that form since.

Injuries stopped him in his tracks that day against County, and several times since, but whatever the reason, we’ve not seen anything like what the player is capable of, and at 27, he is likely to be looking for first team action elsewhere next season.

After last night’s game Neil Lennon spoke of the possibility of signing and losing players over the summer transfer window, which starts in three weeks.  Buying well is crucial, and Celtic didn’t do that last summer, but getting those ‘no longer in the manager’s plans’ off the books as early as possible is also important.

Last August we offloaded Lassad, probably by parting with a bundle of cash in the process.  This is not a precedent Celtic will have been keen to set, but it’s better to have the decks cleared than have an unproductive player linger around for a year.

Anyone starting less than a third of the games he is available for selection should be looking for pastures new, especially with new arrivals expected this summer.

Quite a concerning piece …..obviously a reasonably intelligent person

You’d be forgiven fir thinking that it was only the mad rabid billy boys who thought like that

na i disagree mate.just an example of a bigot who can structure a sentence after picking their knuckles of the ground.

it does not say anything new in there thinking and i would suggest that the bigot author is swimming in self loathing and hatred of their own inaction towards davie murray and how he threw the bigoted mess of a club over a cliff lol.

They conceived, implemented and carried out their own demise, they were warned and didnt listen and carried on with the WATP nonsense.

pity it now denotes we avoid tax payments

Blame the learned hoops-easy way out for the bigot

show envy of how we learn and improve-easy way out for the bigot.

let us keep on keeping on lol

The first line of this nonsense tells all…

“Two years ago, Rangers FC were demoted to the Scottish League Two,…”

    Chick Young in disguise.

  9. Rioskorrie

And the last sentence is drivel too, as he goes back 30 years looking for convincingly dominant sides and ignores 9-in-a-row and the 1967 season where we won every trophy for which we competed. Definitely Chick Young or Keevins (insert your own name)

“But what is beyond doubt is that Celtic still have a long, long way to go

before they can even be compared to the most dominating club sides ever.”

Yep, that’s what I mean by it being a balancing act.

My feeling is that as an overall policy it should be stuck to, just not quite as rigidly as it is. Occasionally need or opportunity might make it desirable to bend it’s rules and we should.

Couldn’t imagine that you would. The opening sentence hit a nerve ;o)

The notion that they were demoted is everywhere though. My neighbor across the road who fancies himself as a source on soccer actually told me that “Celtic have had too easy, they need Rangers – I mean I know they were demoted but…”

Cue a detailed education from me to him. He now hides behind his curtains.

A guy I used to work with drew a family Crest which he though was suitable for the owners of the business.

At first it looked quite impressive – imposing beast in the centre and 3 crowns on top with a Latin motto.

On closer inspection, the “beast” was a bull which had just deposited its last 24 hours grazing consumption, the “crowns” were 3 pork pies and the Latin motto was Semper illegitimus.

The owners were prominent supporters of a club which used to ply its trade in the Glasgow area – nuff said.
