Three in a row

102

My favourite three in a row day was at Tannadice 16 years ago (yes, it’s that long ago). For so many reasons, that win felt huge. Tommy Burns had just died, Oldco we’re ripping it up in Europe and Gordon Strachan was under pressure.

It felt huge, but it was a false dawn, as things fell apart next term and we had three fallow seasons.  This season (if anything) feels more important, so much so I experienced significant dissonance around February, when my faith in the project was failing.  We are not over the line yet, so joy suppressed, but you better believe, when it comes, we’ll celebrate.

  1. Our faith in the project can be tested for a number of reasons, the important thong no matter how thin it gets…

    …we keep the faith

Grand evening to be a Tim!!

  2. Two things ruining football in my eyes.

VAR obviously, and the ridiculous off-side rule. Why wait to see what develops when a player is off-side. In my day, as soon as a player is off-side, the flag went up. now they wait for a couple of moves , a goal is scored, then the flag goes up,ffs

Big win tonight, 4 – 0 the good guys

The SFA were always going to appoint internally so Collum is probably as good as it gets . At least unlike Crawford Allan, he won’t have a clear anti Celtic agenda , and it will infuriate the huns as an added bonus!

Sends off a hun and awards a penalty against them. Then appointed head of refs. Oh me sides.🤣🤣

So sorry to hear about your mum and that horrible illness. I can relate to it via the struggles 3 of my wife and I’s 4 parents. It is not an easy one for sure. The only advice I could offer from experience is to make sure you look after yourself also in this difficult time.

On the football front it is better than most expected after the first few weeks of the season but there is still a big mountain to climb this next 10 days.

Tonight / Saturday is not a gimmie and I would totally agree with you that a James Forrest winner this evening would be fantastic.

The cup final will hopefully then take care of itself.

Collum is probably better suited to an administrative role , I don’t think he has the people skills that the best referees have.

Try the confessional box. Good pub, reasonable price and good Guinness.

Things fell apart and we had three fallow seasons because 1. Rangers (IL) were still financially doping/cheating and 2. Peter Lawwell was given his first real major job to do and screwed it up by appointing Tony Mowbray. (WGS himself has said DD approached him at a golf do about the Celtic job before any of Lawwells errand boys on here try to claim the credit for him).

The Windjammer just off Lombard Street and Molloys on Talbot Street. Both are early houses if you enjoy a walk on the wild side. 😂

Gollum as Head Of Referees? A worldwide trawl for the best person for the job was in fact right under our noses.

Not that I’m one to repeat something Kenny Miller says, apart from when I need a good laugh, but he asked during the game and rightly so, whenever any player came up to speak to him, why was he so angry and snarled at them constantly, what is that all about?

  17. “significant dissonance”

Is that an upgrade on ‘cognitive dissonance’?
