Thumb’s Up for Hampden

After scoring a hat-trick at Celtic Park last night against Kilmarnock, Celtic striker Leigh ‘Teacake’ Griffiths has issued a play me plea to Ronny Deila ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday against Inverness at Hampden.

Griffiths has also regrets that he’s not the leading striker in Scotland in terms of goals scored this season and put that down to spending too much time on the bench, where he was famously caught munching a Tunnoch’s Teacake in a recent match against St.Mirren.

Now that he’s overtakenCBsisKmW4AAfEj- Swedish striker John Guidetti in the goalscoring stakes at Celtic, Teacake in now gunning for Inverness and more semi final goals at Hampden.

Back in February Teacake opened the scoring against The Rangers in the League Cup semi final. Inverness are set to provide a much greater challenge to Celtic at the weekend but Griffiths is confident that his goalscoring spree can continue to take Celtic into the Scottish Cup Final with the possibility of the first Treble for the club since the Martin O’Neill’s side achieved this over a decade ago.

Celtic supporters have come up with a unique way to get behind Teacake for the semi final. A biro and a thumb is all that is needed. So at Hampden it looks like being thumb’s up for Teacake as he strives to lead Celtic to Treble glory!
