Have we progressed since the early season shambles against Legia and Maribor? Of course, we are winning regularly and playing with confidence, but it’s clear there’s also a lot more work to do. Celtic’s best performance of the season so far was in Salzburg, a more favourable wind would have seen us leave with three points, but that performance also stung Salzburg, who saw their aspirations to win the group take a hit.
It will take our best performance of the season to return a win tonight, but I’m expecting nothing less.
Sir David Murray has stuck to his “duped” story. Craig Whyte’s chosen path for Rangers was a surprise to him. This account is now to be explored in the witness box at the trial of the Ibrox Five. I suspect I could script Murray’s evidence myself, “duped”, “shocked”, “best interests of…”
Of vastly more interest will be Alastair Johnston’s evidence. Johnston and his independent board committee opposed Whyte’s takeover and made representations to Murray, which will also be revealed in the witness box.
News that Craig Whyte was arrested in Mexico and is now likely to be subject to extradition proceedings will be welcomed by few of the characters in this messy business. Whyte, as we know, recorded everything. He will be a difficult man to setup as a patsy.
The only questions is, how do I get court tickets?
Three points tonight, please, Celtic.
Many thanks to everyone who has supported the CQNBookstore. The 2015 CQN Annual is now available to pre-order for delivery week commencing 8 December, get it while it’s hot!

Charlie is a much more accomplished central defender than Efe.
EFE created chaos when he came on on Saturday.
Overconfidence is his problem.
Not the lack of it.
The player is a footballing idiot.
The decisions that he makes are mind boggling.

I caught a few highlights of the Malmo: Juventus match and I saw Juve get a couple of favourable decisions from the Portuguese officials.
South of tunis,
Who eliminated red bull matters not a jot.
Astra dumped out Lyon.
Would we be guaranteed a win right now v Lyon and a draw away?

It was the first time i’d ever seen a free kick given for the goalie hanging onto the ball for too long. Never happens now.

Davidopolous,
Ahhhhh. The old 6 second rule. Dropped now.
I though it was for a pass back. That was brought in about that time too.
Come on Bhoyz, do us and yourselves proud tonight. You know you can do it.

RB Salzburg have already qualified for the next round of the Europa League with an impressive 10 out of 12 points so far but……..
The 2 points they dropped was to us, in Salzburg, in a match they came from behind to draw. A match we should have won.
The hoops at home will be to hot to handle.
My money’s on a Celtic victory.

Juve’ s second was controversial. Malmo player was red carded for protesting.
Can`t make the Blane Valley ( or BV as the in crowd call it) tonight. I will, hope, however, to make CQN corner and further hope to bump into Corkcelt and Mick there.

PS Am I correct in thinking that a draw is no good for Dinamo Zagreb tonight? ie If they don`t win, we go through regardless of our result?

TD, it was the front page of the DR that was shown on the news last night with signed photographs of Cameron, Clegg and Milliband!

Yes I said that, but the DR only printed what they thought, it wasent official, that’s all I’m saying, the DR? A mean cmon Ffs ;)
We need to it it tonight because, in my opinion, a cold December night in Zagreb may be a step too far at this stage for this team.
Our local priest was supposed to take me and the wife out on Tuesday night as a wee thank you to my good lady for doing the Church accounts and as a goodbye to her before she opens the next chapter in our book of life, she is moving back to Scotland ahead of me by possibly 18 months ( my job ends in 2016). Unfortunately, we had to cancel because I had a bout of Norovirus and I don’t think he thought it was a good idea to be seen out at the local Italian restaurant on his own with a strange wummin.
Well tonight is the only window of opportunity left to take us out before she leaves on Saturday for job interviews. I hope it will be fast food or else I’ll be twitching from 21:05 onwards.

A couple of seasons ago, we had 3 players who the EPL were knocking on the door about.
Forster, Wanyama and… Efe.
Efe was the only one who signed the new deal put in front him.
Things haven’t worked out so well since. A lot of folk trace it back to the Juve match after his return from ACoN.
Dunno, but lately the fellow’s been great for encouraging the opposition…
Junglejim,
Zagreb must win last two games and if we take a point tonight they’ll have to better our score against them when we meet.
A win for us tonight and it’s goodnight Vienna.
TD, we’re talking politicians here, anything is possible ;-)

That boat project on the beach at Zihuatanejo might need to be parked for a while.

Craig Whyte in court tomorrow
Minty should be in the FFin’ dock:
“Ab-so-fecking-lookly!!”
——
“He’s definately guilty of knowing Whyte was not all he profused to be.”
——
“Minty was only interested in immunising the Murray Group from the BTC liabilities (non existent liabilities as it turned out despite the HMRC taig leakers deliberately setting out to ruin us)”
——
“I certainly believe though there should have been an investigation into the role Bank of Scotland / LTSB played in all of this as there would seem, at least, to be a breach of the money laundering rules.”
——
“Either way he was not dupped”
——
“I hope there is a paper trail back to Sir Dupped”
——
“A captain of industry should never be duped by the likes of Whyte.”
——
“Lloyds should be called to account for an alleged lack of corporate governance and questioned about their role in the Whyte scenario. [Sevco] are part of the vey fabric of our society…The most successful club. The peoples’ club.
A major football and community institution well above their status as a relatively small business .
What has happened to this great club was shameful and disgraceful.”
——
“Whilst I doubt that Murray will ever stand trial in the dock, it will nonetheless be a difficult time for him…Who knows what will be said and what will happen during a full bloodied trial.
People having taken the oath will not often perjure themselves, so the trial should certainly throw up many stark revelations…Guilty posture is a phrase that comes to mind.
Everything that the honest foot soldiers of the support suspected during this terrible debacle seems to be coming alarmingly true, and that the more suspicious in the support called it right from the beginning, whilst the Rangers hating bigoted sectarian press were too busy trying to bury the club to notice the real story in the entire unfortunate business.”
——
“In hindsight, the HMRC tarrier leakers, the alleged Strathclyde Uni tim bloggers on the BTC blog, the banking collapse of mid 2008, the banks two or three year post collapse desperate need for capital being drawn back in, football authorities in this country being infiltrated and run by Sellick minded place men, all of it, it all came together in a perfect storm. The perfect conditions for a fraud and battering of Rangers on a truly monumental scale.
I want blood from all of those involved and still haven’t forgotten about the HMRC involvement in all this. As and when this fraud case becomes clearer, I am hell bent on doing what I can to re-open the investigation into the HMRC leaks. These people started the whole sorry mess and have never been held to account.”
Whyte in court in Glasgow tomorrow apparently!

all this time and they still can’t spell ‘duped’. Not sure if we can blame the schools for that one!

Thanks for the replies. II eventually did the right thing and checked myself 0:-). Dinamo need to win tonight. That is far from guaranteed.

Agent Whyte arrives in the UK
Craigy’s extradition was dealt with quickly by Capt (Speedy) Gonzales of the Policía Federal.
Arriba!
Craig Whyte has just discovered that “Jesus loves you” has a whole different meaning when you’re locked up in a Mexican Jail!
TT/TBB,
i am not Efe’s biggest fan but i feel that he has the stamina and pace to play in midfield, whereas Charlie IMHO does not have the pace and stamina for midfield in European games.
Additionally Efe’s mistakes are less likely to be severely punished in midfield.
Charlie is still defensively strong enough to play at centre-half alongside VVD (assuming JD is not fit of course) and he has the vision and ability to play a good out ball from defence where he will have more time to look up and pick his pass.
However will Ronny see it that way, I doubt it and his is the only opinion that counts!
HAIL! HAIL!

As the temperature starts to drop here is some advice for the older CQN’rs at this time of year:
About this time of the year, older taxpayers will again be receiving another ‘Winter Fuel’ payment. This is indeed a very exciting programme, and I’ll explain it by using a Q & A format:
Q. What is a ‘Winter Fuel’ payment ?
A. It is money that the government will send to taxpayers.
Q. Where will the government get this money ?
A. From taxpayers.
Q. So the government is giving me back my own money ?
A. Only a smidgen of it.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment ?
A. The plan is for you to use the money to purchase gas and electricity…or a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.
Q. But isn’t that stimulating the economy of China ?
A. Shut up.
Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the U.K. Economy by spending your ‘Winter Fuel’ cheque wisely:
* If you spend the money at Asda or Tesco, the money will go to China , Taiwan or Sri Lanka
* If you spend it on petrol your money will go to the Arabs
* If you purchase a computer it will go to India , Taiwan or China
* If you purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico , Honduras and Guatemala
* If you buy an efficient car it will go to Japan or Korea
* If you purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan
* If you pay off your credit cards or buy shares, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.
Instead, keep the money in the UK by:
1. Spending it at car boot sales
2. Going to night clubs
3. Spending it on prostitutes
4. Buying beer or whisky
5. Getting yourself a Tattoo
6. Visiting a bookie
(These are the only UK businesses still operating in the U.K. )
Conclusion: Be patriotic – go to a night club with a tattooed prostitute that you met at a car boot sale and drink beer day and night !
No need to thank me…just glad I could be of help.
No to Efe in midfield from me. A strong ‘No’ at that.

It seems to me that RD is trying to get Celtic to play a similar way to WGS’ Scotland team. Which is fine as it goes, but as Gordon Strachan found out against England it does not work if the opponents decide not to play ball. Scotland ended up playing on the back foot for most of the game, unable to keep possession for any length of time, and when we did manage 3-4 passes we found ourselves in a worse position than we were before the first pass. Eventually you run out of steam. Even Bayern did the other night, although they only had ten men for most of the game. Even so, we have done quite well away from home, and as a result we are one good performance away from European football in 2015. That surely should be enough of an incentive for us tonight.

We know who Augustus and Tiberius are, but I want to know:
1 Who is the Livia behind this?
2 What fruit did he/she use to poison the other candidates (on the assumption that there were not many figs around Ibrox)
3 Will Ally be able to deify him/her or will he have to go through courses in canonisation first ?
4 Should Robert Graves write the screenplay?
