TIERNEY’S A WINNER
TEENAGER Keiran Tierney admits EVERY game for Celtic for the remainder of the season is a must-win contest.
The left-back made his 10th league appearance in the defeat against Aberdeen which qualified him for a Premiership winner’s medal – if the Hoops manage to make it five in a row.
Tierney, who has taken over from Emilio Izaguirre this season, said: “Anything can happen, but you just need to hope for the best.
“Hopefully, I can stay injury free and, when the games come along, I get selected. However, it’s not just about that.
“We need to actually win the games, so we can go on and lift the Premiership title again.
“This is my first shot at it in the first team, so the other players will help me along.
“When I played in the Scottish Cup against Stranraer recently, that meant I’d played in every competition for Celtic, so I’m just looking to get more appearances in all of them.”
The 18-year-old defender added: “It’s credit to the gaffer, Ronny Deila, John Collins and John Kennedy. They’ve put a huge amount of faith in me.
“I just need to do my best to repay them and the fans.
“If we beat East Kilbride, we’ll get through to the next round, but it’s mostly about the team getting to Hampden.
“If I’m still training well and playing well, then, hopefully, I’ll get picked.”
