Time for Lustig to concentrate on the day job

172

You know things are bad when so many players are pulling out of the forthcoming Scotland fixture, despite it being one of the last chances they might get to leave the country for the lack of visa application, access to ports and airports, or fuel to get them there.

Jack Hendry would benefit from game time, but Kieran Tierney James Forrest and Callum McGregor would each be better resting up this week than travelling across the Continent.

The player I’m most concerned about is Mikael Lustig, who travels to Turkey with Sweden.  Mikael will be 32 next month, played at the World Cup and needs to manage his limbs more than most.  I’m sure he loved representing his country, but it might be time to concentrate on the day job.

  1. Good Man Preston, just because I stumbled on a leader without a post, I put my oar in.

As I am on I would like to send my best wishes to MAH. whose courage and fortitude is an inspiration to us all,

  2. Los Bhoy, I would be laughing but the consequences of these clown’s inflated egos will have very serious consequences.

  3. MAHE—Padre Pio very seldom fails. A member of my family, and a rock in times of need. Enjoy yourself with your own and the Celtic one.

  8. Try to avoid politics as best I can but what a shambles.

As an expat living and working in Spain I had no well formed view of Scottish independence but now . . . can there be any realistic option for Scotland other than to vote to leave the UK?

As for ML, if we are to sign him for another year then he is a prime candidate for squad rotation. He should not be asked to play two games a week. We can play three at the back and use him sparingly.

  9. Does anyone know if three of our opponents receiving retrospective reds is pretty much the norm for all Clubs in the Scottish Premier league? ie The Refs have missed three red card offences in our games so far.

    Serious question.

When people move to live and work in another country, they are called immigrants.

Why is it when Brits move to , e.g., Spain, they are referred to as ex-pats?

I have long wondered about that, but have never asked the question.

Its actually 4 when you add the curious case of Alan McGregor.

    Theirs your problem right there.

  12. Video Assistant Referees to be used from next season in the EPL. So I guess Scotland can look forward to it in ten years time. Even although there is a greater need for it here.

He did indeed get home today, he was in his own abode by 11:30. He tells me has enough supplies to equip an army. He had a lot of settling up to do of his equipment but it’s been no problem.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

Couldn’t disagree more and very disappointed that you are continuing the theme from a month or so ago that Celtic players should do all they can to not play international football.

Scotland, my 2nd favourite TEAM are down to the bare bones here. We need at least 4 points from the final 2 games. So personally I’ll be delighted if 3 of the most in form players in Scotland at the moment all turn out to represent MY country.

I think the difference is from the original meaning of expats who are generally seen as

    temporarily immigrated ( if that’s a word )

That opinion will go over here about as well as a fart in an elevator.

Good thing there is hardly anyone here today, or you’d be getting a right chasing for that.

Dont worry … if they do come back with their torches and pitchforks, and chase you out of town, you can always hide out in TO for a while. And if you stay long enough, you can have dinner with Almore at Christmas time.

  18. Jobo Baldie – I agree with you and I’m sure the players will be desperate to represent their country.

Many immigrants harbour the notion of returning home, so that should make them ex-pats, at least until they die in that country, then any children become children of Immigrants.

Methinks it is just a nicer sounding name favoured by Brits abroad.
