Time for Lustig to concentrate on the day job

172

You know things are bad when so many players are pulling out of the forthcoming Scotland fixture, despite it being one of the last chances they might get to leave the country for the lack of visa application, access to ports and airports, or fuel to get them there.

Jack Hendry would benefit from game time, but Kieran Tierney James Forrest and Callum McGregor would each be better resting up this week than travelling across the Continent.

The player I’m most concerned about is Mikael Lustig, who travels to Turkey with Sweden.  Mikael will be 32 next month, played at the World Cup and needs to manage his limbs more than most.  I’m sure he loved representing his country, but it might be time to concentrate on the day job.

If Brexit results in a united Ireland there is a real worry Scotland will end up with exactly the peepil you speak of .

It’s actually 5 when you factor in the very strange case of Naismith on Hayes.

In the cases of McGregor and Naismith, the officials could claim (ahem) they didn’t see it…aye right.

However,in the incidents involving McKenna,MacLean and Menga the referee DID see all three incidents but deemed that no punishment was appropriate.

Three very clearly wrong, major, potential game changing decisions all made to Celtic’s disadvantage.

Meanwhile Celtic say nothing while a new club across the city can call out refs with impunity.

    Strange right enough.

John Robertson’s genius solution to the Tierney/Robertson conundrum – “play them both at left back”.

Ach, why not just leave them both out and go with Lee Wallace?

On reading again the CQN blog regards the 50 honest mistakes of the 2010 season ,think they had D Macdonald down for 17 of the fifty .

Anyone know how many Celtic /ragers games he officiated in that season ,can’t think it would be much more than 17 .If not ,what are the chances of seemingly getting so many decisions wrong in so many games in one season .

Anyone know what happened to D Macdonald by the way …..oh wait

On reflection , you may also be right about the British use of the word.

Perhaps those who did not wish to take up the nationality of the country to which they had moved , referred to themselves as expats , rather than eg. Kenyans.

  9. I don’t like the Tories.

I don’t like Theresa, imagine not liking somebody called, Theresa.

    But, there ye go.

The impossible task that Theresa faces, trying to get her impossible brexit deal through the Commons, well, what can ye say ?

I’ve had a wee talk, to the voice’s, my closest pals.

Well, their telling me that, Theresa has seen, and heard the DUP Klan, in the raw, and that, Theresa dizny really like thum. Which is a good thing, imho.

The voice’s have also been telling me that, Theresa and, Jeremy, who can’t stand the site of each other, have hatched a wee plan.

    It goes like this,……

Theresa will face down her doubter’s, and steam ahead with her impossible plan, and…….Jeremy will whip the Labour Party into abstaining from the brexit vote, Theresa’s plan will go through, and Theresa will dump the toxic DUP, and allow the dark north to hold a border poll. √

I would doubt that there would be any change in the real personal circumstances of the individual .

  17. Paul67 et al

Anyone on here who finds optimism for the North of Ireland following a chaotic brexit in Great Britain really has not been paying attention. The loyal Irish will not leave Ireland, unless they find themselves on the wrong end of a civil war. English Tories, polled recently stated by large majorities, that Brexit trumps the Good Friday agreement. Peace in Ireland is not, I repeat not, a priority for Tory Brexiteers, it pales into insignificance when compared to freedom from the EU. All you Republicans, (modern day Protestants), and Nationalists (present day Irish Catholics) need to be wary what you wish for, Northern Ireland could be a new Lebanon, Belfast a new Beruit, and sooner than you think.

The Border talk is all about trading relations .

The unspoken issue is that an open border would effectively permit the free movement of migrants from the Republic to the UK.

In effect , an open back door.

Can`t see UK agreeing to that.
