Just as with the last round of games two weeks ago, Hearts get the chance to extend their lead at the top to five points before Celtic play a day later. On that occasion, both teams left it late, relying on added-time winners to secure home wins.
Those wins were against teams with similar form; both on 8 points and neither had until then been defeated. This weekend, Hearts are at Kilmarnock, who are third in the table, while Celtic are at 11th placed Dundee. That variance might be useful.
The game at Kilmarnock will tell us a lot about the season ahead. Killie’s only defeat this season was courtesy of that late penalty in their 1-2 defeat to Celtic. Five of their seven games have been against six of the other sides in the top seven places in the table. They are a well-organised and difficult to beat side, who after Hearts, can look forward to more comfortable matches against struggling Newco and Aberdeen.
If Derek McInnes’ Hearts can win on the Kilmarnock plastic, we will face a team fighting for the title at Tynecastle a week later, no matter what the result at Dens. The next three weeks have a crucial look to them.

Excellent gesture, why would the club mention Gaza now?
CELTIC MAC
” Anybody know how that will work, or not as is the case?”
Will be similar to the app now used by the SFA and used by any fans purchasing tickets for the semi-final. You download the app and put your email address on it, when you purchase a ticket it is then downloaded onto your app as a digital ticket which you then have to take your phone with you to gain access. So far the SFA app you are allowed to transfer the ticket to another user who also has the app. This, I think, will be a way for folks to sell or share their ticket for all games once everyone has their season tickets on the new app. Or something of that ilk. Only my thoughts though, por certo

Anyone whos been to Aston Villa’s ground will know how bad the stand theyre renovating is – it’s a real 70s functional eyesore. The boxes look terrible from the outside – nearly as bad as the nutters who sit in front of them
——–
is it better than our own south stand ?
Celtic Mac @2.45
You are absolutely correct in your comment.
Always good to have a player who can use two feet and it was a superb pass from Arne.
I have seen in a few places that Mikel Ange is not a winger but more of an old fashioned inside forward (or number 10 as they are called these days).
However in the games I have seen him play, I got the impression that he was more comfortable with his right foot. Looks like he has something about him.
Similarly, Nygren played on the right wing in some of his early games but is clearly a left footer.
If its going to take that long someone from the Board and the Football side need to tell the Club backers i.e. the support why and what action has been taken to correct the wrongs.
Tom- Nicholson was asked about ‘club signings’ last week, do keep up….
Saint Stivs @ 4:22pm – cheers.
Watched the video.
Lots to reasonably benchmark against.
A quick search online returns an estimated cost of £100m.
(I thought it was a lot more than that)
6,000 extra seats
Broader more joined up facilities (venue for gigs or fanzone, Superstore, hotel, museum)
PS – no reduction in capacity while the work takes place?
… Intriguing
I thought Sheffield Wednesday was a bank holiday!!
por cierto @ 5.05
What if you do not have a smart phone?
Or you do but not smart enough to know how to use it?

I’m hopeful that some of our signings, like Balikwisha and to Tounekti, really find their feet.
One thing we are not sure of, is players, and it is up to Brendan to get the best out them.
Saints Stivs
CEO’s in any walk of life are overpaid, it’s common knowledge and widely available information for shareholders or Celtic supporters in our case.
Ours is overpaid in relation to clubs with similar and higher turnover, and ridiculously overpaid in relation to CEO’s in other industries.
Most importantly obscenely overpaid in relation to the very ethos of our Football Club which clashes in its fabric, by being a PLC running a football club instead of a Football Club running a PLC.
I’m sure you know a lot more about than me.
Glad to see our defence options returning to more or less full strength in time for the next phase of two games a week
With AJ and Trusty ready to push for starting places, we now have reasonable options across the back four.
Anyone think Brendan will drop an out of sorts Kasper for SInisalo? Na, me neither. But I would. Kasper has been poor by his own standards this season. In contrast Sinisalo has looked much more comfortable playing out from the back and less likely to gift the oppposition gilt-edged chances through slack passing.

I’ve not been in it, but from what I’ve seem I don’t think it is.
The Holt End looks impressive from the outside but it’s not a nice stadium, ours is much better

A new manager who is committed to the trading model would be an instant improvement, it would take a while for the results to be seen, but that’s where we are
We have always sold so what is the trading model? We retain nobody who wants to leave and has a good value yet don’t have replacements. The model if this is it, is one dimensional in that we sell easily and find replacing difficult.
CEO’s in any walk of life are overpaid
—
the point isnt really that they are overpaid, although obviously they are.
its that the system of PLCism is designed that way – regardless of what happens in a PLC, the CEO and his execs will still be throwing cash up in the air at the end of the year, regardless, for example, of how many staff they have had to make redundant during that year.
in fact, that probably helps their bonus.
and governments keep it going because the lead politicians all get funded by these PLCs.
its that PLCism that needs to be brought down.
its the reason why all our bills rocket for no benefit to us.
and why our tax money pays for endless wars that we didnt vote for.

Plenty of smarties in the Celtic Collective I’m sure not all a shower of ‘ grifters’ ‘ ‘egotists ‘ and plain ‘ village idiots ‘ ‘ bed wetters’ as I’ve seen them get tarred on here.
Fair play to the supporters that give up their spare time, lifeblood of the support, down with the sweetie paper rustlers, and prawn sandwich brigade, in the Celtic support.
Tom @ 4.47 – I was being sarcastic. Our manager introduced the term in to the Celtic lexicon.
The fact Nicholson supposedly shrugged when asked about it was probably him treating it with the contempt it deserves.
Evening all.

Just heard on the ol’ wirelessthere that HMRC have issued a winding up order on Sheffield Wednesday for failing to pay taxes to the Crown. (sound familiar?)
No truth in the rumour that they will come back as er Sheffield Thursday…

That made me chuckle😂😂😂😂

You should have a word with Brendan about Daizen not being our number one priority – he keeps on keeping him on the pitch and subbing off those in form players. Hes our number one attacker at the moment for sure
—-
I’m struggling to see any consistency whatsoever in what you’re saying.
Earlier, Maeda should be our number one priority, now you’re highlighting the fact that BR has stuck by him and done everything possible to keep him on the pitch.
Putin managing to string Trump along again just before a visit from Zelensky tomorrow, the KGB Colonel has not lost it.
Speaking of Villa Park, I hear that West Midlands Police have banned Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters from their EL match against Aston Villa in Brum on November 6. Described as “high risk” and based in part on the behaviour of their fans in Amsterdam last time out, the WMP said that they could not guarantee their safety, prompting howls of rage from the Jewish Chronicle and other Jewish organasations. Thankfully we avoided that potential scenario.
What’s Next for the Celtic Fans Collective – Part 1 | Feat. Paul John Dykes (A Celtic State of Mind)
https://youtu.be/1QXaKC8NC94?si=b93lu4FMLDc7eF2X
From open letters to hastily arranged meetings, official statements to published minutes, it’s been a hectic start for the new fans’ body – and in many ways, they’re only just getting started.
Amidst all the noise, we were delighted to be joined by Paul John Dykes of A Celtic State of Mind (ACSOM) – someone who’s been at the forefront of the movement from day one. Paul John shared valuable insight into how the Collective came together, the challenges they’ve faced so far, and what lies ahead for the group.
This is the first instalment in a two-part collaboration between The Celtic Exchange and ACSOM, so be sure to tune in to ACSOM on Friday, 17th October at 6.30pm for Part 2!
‘guarantee their safety’

the safety of genocidal, child murdering animals should never be guarnteed.
I would love to see a vision from the experts that Bournesouprecipe speak of.
A vision which could come close to delivering 16 leagues in 20 years.
A vision which would see us beat the best in top leagues in Europe such as Barca Milan Man U Benfica and Leipzig in the top competition and reach last 16 in at least 3 seasons.
That kind of vision should be the minimum.
As to their ability to deliver it …… well they have a standing start of an amazing financial positon and a key rival on their knees. So no excuses for these gurus.

It did not mean I agree or support
Thanks for the advice on not following spin or hype

Have a good day”
Thanks for the response – yes, I took it you were not necessarily agreeing or supporting the piece, I really need to work on my tone when commenting.
However, the points in my post have been made by me a few times now and it is a serious issue from my perspective.
After the lockdown and remember our PPV games, zoom, ms teams, streaming services etc – the technology and media content world was different.
Opportunities abound, why did the SPFL take time to explore the options rather than a quick, knee jerk, signing of a beggarly Sky offer?
Good to see you posting and apologies again…

“Right, let’s all bow down to the ‘vision’ as laid out by Burnley78.
What a truly inspiring vision it is! To nostalgically gaze at a league table from 2019 while our current team gets pumped out of the CL by K. Almaty. A vision so powerful it relies on beating teams from a decade ago as its core argument. Truly breathtaking.
You demand a vision that can ‘come close’ to 16 in 20 years. Well, here’s the board’s current vision, since you seem to have missed it:
Transfer Vision: Sign cheap, sell high. The football is a secondary concern.
European Vision: There is no vision, obviously.
Domestic Vision: Do just enough to win the league against a shambolic rival, using the financial disparity as a crutch rather than building a truly great team.
And your masterstroke—’they have a standing start of an amazing financial position and a key rival on their knees. So no excuses’—is just poetry.
You have perfectly articulated the entire criticism. That, is the problem. With all those advantages, the product is stagnant, the football is often turgid, club signings made by god only knows, and there is no ambition to be anything other than the richest team in a weak league.
So please, stop asking for a vision. You’re cheering for one. It’s just that the vision is a healthy dividend, not a healthy football club.”
I was speaking to my Celtic-supporting Syrian friend today and he introduced me to his Tunisian friend. I asked him what he thought of Sebastian Tounetki.
He said he was by far the best Tunisian playing in Europe and that the manager is “an asshole”. I wasn’t sure who he meant so I said, “Which manager?”
I was thinking, does he mean Brendan?
“The manager of Tunisia,” he replied.
Apparently he doesn’t pick the winger often enough and plays him out of position.
just because I posted elsewhere, my faavourite piece of Celtic online.
Here is a thought, do Celtic make any sort of contribution to the parishes to have the annual mass ?
Could the mass go to Sacred Heart and St Michaels as well as St Marys ?

Long-ish , but if you are interested in a sense of place and purpose stick with it.
Read it and maybe weep, but jaw dropping in places as well.

–GLENGARRY – Glasgow’s Sacred Heart
Bartholomew Street in Glasgow’s Bridgeton district still stands today but it is an empty street: a brick wall runs along one side with nothing behind it, there are no houses, shops or businesses anywhere to be seen. It is a ghost street. As cars and buses drive past Bartholomew Street and nearby Dalmarnock rail station heading up the new road towards Celtic Park, few people are aware of the history of these deserted streets that lie close to the River Clyde, the people who lived on them and the pivotal role the area played in the story of Celtic Football Club.

sorry bud, but you are doing that thing that those with authority will do often,
you are under-estimating the opponent (yours not mines).
I have been pleasantly surpised 9not through snobbery) with the quality of output by collective and beyond.
the bloggers, imho, finally just being used to delivery messages, but not driving the movement.
I know all the complexities for change to happen, but finally i think there is a real movement for change.
a younger, fitter, more aligned executive and ownership is required.
I think it is happening.

There are lots of head coaches and managers out there who understand the job these days
My money is on us finding someone who’ll buy into our model and who will be better than Martin
I have a ticket for the upcoming semi-final. Will Celtic send me the ticket or do I have to download a Celtic App? I have the Hampden Park one but it hasn’t appeared on that?
Martin who?
PCS
It appears on the hampden app a day or so before the game
We played our best football on the right when we had,AJ,Engels,Kuhn in that triangle.Engels actually had a position.AJ overlapping with Kuhn.Very productive, goalwise.Nothing to stop the same formation using Tounetke.Well worth a try.
If Maeda goes in January, same on the left with KT,Calmac, and Jota.
Two very strong sides to the team.
Anyway,WTF do I know?.🤔
