Rodgers spoke to the media after the final whistle as Hoops fans celebrated big-style and ex-Celt Chris Sutton quizzed the manager about his thoughts on next season.

The Irishman smiled and answered: “For the avoidance of doubt, I will be here next year, 200 per cent.

“I said the other week 150 per cent. Now it’s 200!

“I’ve never been happier here. I’ve had the most amazing season with the support of the club, the players, how they’ve performed.”

Rodgers added: “These players here have been unbelievable in their mentality every day and took that into the games.

“When they had to step up, they stepped up like today. So it’s been an absolutely brilliant season for us in the league.”

The Celtic gaffer’s eleventh honour took him one above Neil Lennon in the managers’ honours list at Parkhead.

No-one was to realise the title triumph on Tayside was to become his last honour as the Parkhead club’s manager.
