Hibernian lost 3-0 on their last league visit to Celtic Park. That game came a week after their season pivoted, as they rescued a point against Aberdeen. Their only defeat in 19 league games since was a 1-0 reversal at Pittodrie two weeks ago.
19 games is exactly half a season and that is title winning form. Hibs are third in the table, 12 points off a Champions League qualification spot, they can ponder what could have been, had David Gray’s side got their act together from the start of the campaign.
That 3-0 Celtic Park defeat flattered the home side. The result wasn’t there for Hibs, but we could see the potential they had. When they returned to the same venue on Scottish Cup duty in March, the champions were alert to the threat and deservedly progressed to the semifinals.
Tomorrow is not about the result for Celtic. Brendan Rodgers has a treble to win and will rightly rest those who need rested. We have to hope he will use the occasion to develop some of the talent withering on the Celtic bench.
By contrast, even a point tomorrow would be celebrated by Hibs. With three games to go, anything from Celtic tomorrow is likely to see them compete in European group stage football next season. That would bring money, resources, players and the kind of sunshine not seen in Leith for decades. Let’s see how they fare against the champions.

Ayr were poor.
Ayr 0 Partick 2 (1-2)
Guess Di Brooni wont be getting offered the Celtic job just yet.
Mark Wilson doing a half decent job wi Thistle
Tifo banned tomorrow…..read all about it, in the match programme……maybe not eh.
Well at least Celtic are doing something that the huns board obviously don’t….have a look at the Tifo beforehand!
No way could anyone condone the actions (drunken or not) of the Celtic fan mocking the 66 victims of the ibrox disaster…but the faux outrage of “Rangers” fans who happily sing, week in and week out about being “up to their knees in Debian blood”…or singing about the Popes death is outrageous…coupled with the reporting of said Celtic fan by the SMSM and the non reporting of said “Rangers” fans weekly songbook is simply outrageous….this country and its Swinney like so called politicians have a lot to answer for…
Debian..fenian
Question to Sky commentators…why apologize when a lid comment of “Fuck, cunt or Bastard” is picked up from an individual during a broadcast….but no apology for demeaning the Popes death or being up to one’s knees in fenian blood?
What’s the agenda? What’s considered offend and what isn’t?….
Offend…offensive
Lid …?
The hun hordes got a reality check from the powers that be,reigning in expectation, just dawned on them that FSG regulations apply to them,as well as every club
Celtic 4-1 Hibs…
In Brendan’s presser he said if all the players were still here next season he felt we needed another three in. I wonder if that was three plus Kieran.
However, reading between the lines, I know I could be totally wrong, but it seemed that Reo would be one to leave in the summer.
Good morning from a sunny North Staffs.

Gerrintaethum Celtic!!!!
GENE, I’ve been meaning to thank you for weeks and weeks for your early morning Hoople posts. They are a great start to the day and you have no idea how many people take advantage of your efforts. I’ve got a wee WhatsApp group, comprising friends and family in Scotland, Ireland, Luxembourg (!), the US and Australia and they look forward (in their various time zones) to me re-posting your Hoople link. And then they send it on further afield!!
Be aware that your efforts are appreciated across the globe – truly we are a world-wide fan base!
Thanks again.

GENE, sorry, forgot to congrat you on Port Vale’s heroic efforts. Another score I regularly look for now.

The guy that done the 66 died stuff is stupid as f, terrible behaviour from a grown man but got to agree the outrage and demonisation of one guy whilst not mentioning 45k folk engaging in a sickening songbook from start to finish.
One guy lost his job and the respect of most because of his stupidity whilst 45k folk who spent 2 hours up to their knees in fenian blood, mocking the irish disapra and telling them to go home (1 million folk died, 1 million were displaced) mocking the death of a religious leader of 1.5 billion people and having a wee bit of banter about pedophilia at one club whilst ignoring the abuse at their own club, walk away with the moral highground before you even get on to the banner and throwing of objects at players and other supporters.

Stephenbhoyboy- the guy is an idiot and if he’s a ST holder take it off him,but the guy was lifted in about 12 hours, what about the bottle thrower?

Makes it even more scandalous that Celtic, once again, said nothing about attacks on their staff.
Also, as someone mentioned on here, where the feck are the players’ union?
I see it’s still Higgins and Wishart.
VALE BHOY, Higgins and Wishart? Still? My God, they’ve been there for years, decades in fact. Wishart, as we know, has previous with us (and Thems) so would expect the square root of feck all from him, but Higgins was, at one time, very outspoken and of course has no natural bias (in Scotland) against us.
I wonder how many of our players are actually members of the “Players’ Union”? if so do they actually pay money to be ignored when they are being physically and verbally abused in their work place?
I’m not a natural Board-basher, but they really do need to be seen to taking this seriously, in public. Do they not have a duty-of-care to their employees? Genuine question.

Listening to Brendan expect lots of changes, Ralston to continue, might see Nawrocki, Yang, Bernardo, McCowan, Kenny and one or two other youngsters and maybe a debutant.
Speaking of youngsters Peter Pan Forrest still needs one goal to write his name in history , worth going to see alone , especially if you can say you were there for the sixteen.
Beautiful afternoon in Parkhead to watch the Champions play 🇮🇪
Great direct quote from a young Finnish player, making his living in Scotland, but finding his workplace isn’t always conducive to concentrated application.
““I’m just trying to do my job. There aren’t many jobs in the world where you get a bottle thrown at you.”
What an indictment on Scottish football (because this has been going on for decades, but seems to be getting worse) and to an extent on Scotland itself, given the numerous reverse gears operated by politicians across the board as they play it down and repeat ad nauseum that it is a ‘minority’ to blame.

On way to Paradise to see the fabulous Glasgow Celtic. Let the good times roll 👍
Nay tother abaw bjoys I feel we need to keep discussing and sharing and it’s good the players are speaking our a about it and the next course of action and would possible bring it all to head would be for the players to leave the filed of play before someone actually does reciece a serous injury on filed.
