Hibernian lost 3-0 on their last league visit to Celtic Park. That game came a week after their season pivoted, as they rescued a point against Aberdeen. Their only defeat in 19 league games since was a 1-0 reversal at Pittodrie two weeks ago.
19 games is exactly half a season and that is title winning form. Hibs are third in the table, 12 points off a Champions League qualification spot, they can ponder what could have been, had David Gray’s side got their act together from the start of the campaign.
That 3-0 Celtic Park defeat flattered the home side. The result wasn’t there for Hibs, but we could see the potential they had. When they returned to the same venue on Scottish Cup duty in March, the champions were alert to the threat and deservedly progressed to the semifinals.
Tomorrow is not about the result for Celtic. Brendan Rodgers has a treble to win and will rightly rest those who need rested. We have to hope he will use the occasion to develop some of the talent withering on the Celtic bench.
By contrast, even a point tomorrow would be celebrated by Hibs. With three games to go, anything from Celtic tomorrow is likely to see them compete in European group stage football next season. That would bring money, resources, players and the kind of sunshine not seen in Leith for decades. Let’s see how they fare against the champions.

Lets for a minute imagine a world in which celtic fans collectively sang songs about rangers football club letting people die in the ibrox disaster every week and whenever we played them (the issues with that exit at ibrox was well known before the poor souls lost their lives). It would not be allowed fullstop. One guy done a stupid thing at ibrox and so far he has had his celtic ticket removed, lost his job, faced public demonisation and likely criminal charges and everything else that goes along with all of that I.e. fines, finacial hardship etc.
At the same time rangers supporters collectively sang songs about sexual abuse at celtic boys club with gusto (many survivors are still living) by extension using the sexual abuse of children to point score (despite abuse happening at their club). Yet not a peep from anyone in the media, no one loses their jobs or is demonised or criminalised.
Rangers supporters then target songs towards people effected by the tragedy of the great hunger and tell second and third generations of said tragedy to go home, not sure they wpuld get away with that if the target was Jewish or packstani people etc.
What i am trying to say is this the guy who done that at ibrox will regret his actions because there has been consequences the 45k indulging in behaviour no better than his will have no consequences and so it shall continue.
The lady of justice is not blind when it comes to who is doing what. That guy is being judged differently, does not make his actions acceptable but does beg the question why? The selective outrage and hypocrisy is annoying, we should all be measured by the same standards.
There is one way of reducing the risk of injury to our players and staff (and indeed our supporters) when playing our Glasgow rivals ower at Ayebrokes, and that is proposing that we only play each other twice a season, once at home, once away. (Wont eliminate it but will reduce it)
Alternatively we can continue to accept tickets for two SPL away matches, continue the risk, continue being exposed to the sectarian and anti Irish bile, the chants re child abuse, the ‘atmosphere’ and all.
I suspect the Paul67s of this world, the Old Firm adherents among our support, and in the Board, prefer the latter……hence things will continue in a similar fashion for the foreseeable future

WOW! Looks like President Trump has had enough of the Evil ones.
A few days ago President Trump was praising the “Grit” and unshakeable “Resistance” of Houthie “Rebels” from the poorest country in the World, Yemen, whose word he will now trust going forward.
President Trump has set alarm bells ringing in some quarters.

On a brighter note, with the Glasgow weather set fair for the next week or so….
BigRailRoadBlues will not have to spend so much time indoors….
No?
Looking forward to seeing the team lineup that BR puts out today.
Already know that CCV will be rested. Don’t expect AJ to be brought back if not 100% ready. How many guys like Yang, Bernardo, McCowan, Nawrocki, Trusty, will get game time?
There’s a fine line between giving these guys game time, and keeping your expected Cup Final XI ticking over.
We don’t want players starting the Cup Final rusty, and out of sync.
Glad we have BR making the decisions lol

Today will be poignant for Hibs as it has been announced that Tom Farmer has died at 84.
A true philanthropist.
RIP Tom
Perfect for the appeasers and and bonus takers, the plan is set, the headlines are written “ Rainjurz and Celtic “ ban controversial TIFO’s.
Job done, for the oldfirmist peacekeepers and fixture preservationists who need all the money from all of the supporters, all of the time. It’s very likely Celtic are in constant dialogue with our money spreading mythical partner, even though there’s never so much as nod or a wink in public.
The sectarian nature of Sevco’s first actual readable effort, was bundled into the bin at half time at IBrokes and business bungling bigots rushed to mash up their latest no apology or surrender effort.
This suits, Celtic who are already away in front heading off our own at the pass, never having stooped to racial or sectarian, but just banned anyway. Sevco of course to the neutral eye have a much bigger problem, and when you’re already in bed with them, you’re only too willing to help them, you’re “ sure they’ll sort it out “
Celtic make money from Sevco the Rainjurz demise is bad for business . “ We “ worked non stop in negotiations for away supporters in both stadia.
Sevco killed the fixture stone dead with their original carte blanche ban, and now not just metaphorically , try to kill any sight of Celtic including the players, that find its way into their stadium.
The TIFO is ‘sticks and stones’ name calling, bottles are for maiming, banning racism from Celtic Park is to be applauded but not restricted by advocating the return of the serial bigot.

Don’t think Brendan will play this team but I’d go with that against a real strong Hibs team …..
Levitt and Triantis for them and the pace of Boyle .
The new big forward for them looked really confident (forget his name).
Really looking forward to a good contest and hopefully a win 🤞

—
im always a bit wary of lauding people as philanthropists.
Most of them have made fortunes off the back of workers in their company who they have made redundant at some point to keep their own troughs full.
i have no doubt tom farmer was the same.
but that doesnt mean he had to give so much of his money away for good causes.
but he did.
and so he deserves his plaudits.
