Tom, Davie, Development Squad face Valencia

Good luck to the Development Squad for their Uefa Youth League one-off cup tie against Valencia this evening. A win would see Celtic proceed to the quarter final – no mean feat when you consider the way some bigger league clubs harvest scores of youth players from across the globe.

Kick-off is 5pm, if you can get to Celtic Park. It’s not THE Champions League, but it’s an important metric we should follow.

Delighted Davie Hay and Tom Boyd are  Celtic Ambassadors. I see enough of what the Celtic support to here to know the value of the club, but we can never take these values for granted. The Celtic Movement needs leaders. Davie and Tom have been informal ambassadors of the club for years, as many of you can testi

  5. Didn’t realise there was a way to filter out the parasite.

    Can someone please advise ASAP.

On the topic of conversation re. Student Loans. I’m so happy the resident parasite is unhappy because he feels he is having to personally pay for the education of some (40% of students) who cannot get jobs that would trigger the point were they are deemed under law able to pay back the loans they are forced to take to survive and live while being educated.

It makes me so happy thT it grinds with him so much. In fact it has made my day. I hope every penny he ever paid in national insurance and tax has been diverted to assist paying for our young peoples education and the salaries of teachers and lecturers.

    MWD is happy today.

  9. Adam Johnson Sunderland player is up for trial this week, for grooming and having sex with a 15 yr old girl. He is pleading guilty to these charges, he also faces 2 other charges to which he is pleading not guilty.

A Twitter account which purports to be from Carlton Cole makes two references to the case.

One says something like “Adam Johnson is having a party, bring your homework & Smarties”

  10. If you stop paying a loan you are a parasite?

If you stop paying your mortgage loan you are not a parasite.

If you are fortunate and the good Lord Gifts you a good brain you should if possible get the best education you can and eventually the best job that you can secure. However as I see it you should do your best for your fellow man who assisted you with his/her taxes to gain your qualifications. That means paying back any loans that you have been given to help you live while your are getting your education that seems fair to me . I wish all students well and hope they achieve the degree that they are working towards. HH.

Aye you are of course correct. but it annoys the mams of me.

Even when the truth is out there, the spin goes on, the lies, but at least the words are there for all to see, he called those, Celtic men, who were having an educated and civil discussion parasites.

I come on here to be educated, to read about the club and other things, to read other posters who are better than me at putting their points across.

As for education, when I was a wean we could leave school at 15, I left when I was 14 due to there being a teachers strike for a month or so before I turned 15, started work when I was 14, I am as uneducated as they come, but over the years I have tried to teach myself, I have read and listened to those who were educated and took on board what they taught me, unlike some.

You lived in Canada, you must have seen it for yourself over there,it is not the way forward for a country which has to develop and keep its best. As has been said,it is a means of keeping the haves and the have-nots apart.

*I have weans with multiple degrees and diplomas between them. I have nieces and nephews that same. I now have 2 grandweans going through Uni.

Further education in Canada is very expensive, which in one of the richest countries in the world is an effin disgrace. No different from hame in that the haves always do better than the have nots. A tory government made sure of that.

I have a neighbour who’s daughter is on a golf scholarship !!!! to California, his 2 sons are pretty good hockey players and one of them is heading to a northern state university on the same. That is one of the ways to go.

The Canadian National Women’s Soccer team has most of their players on soccer scholarships in the States; in fact a couple of them missed playoff games in the Pan Am Games as they had exams that week. Canada is not Shangri La as far as further education is concerned.

Without student loans, grants are few and far between now; it would not have been possible for my family to achieve what they did.

However, student loans are like a noose around the young’s necks. They also have interest incurred on them. The Canadian Federation of Students estimates that the average student in Ontario and Nova Scotia graduates owing $28,000 to the government.

If you have a Canada Student Loan, six months after you stop being a student, you have to start paying it back (so your first repayment is at the end of the seventh month after leaving school). You won’t have to make a payment but interest will start building up during this time.

If you’re behind in your monthly payments, your Canada Student Loan is considered to be “delinquent,” if your loan is in delinquency for longer than 90 days, you can’t access the government’s all-important Repayment Assistance Plan.

Many students have filed for bankruptcy. And many many graduates head down south for better paying jobs; yes we have the “brain drain” here tae.
