JAMES FORREST was Celtic’s two-goal hero the last time they faced Dundee.
Brendan Rodgers’ men were involved in a nailbiting countdown to the title when they played at Dens Park on April 28 last season.
It was a nervy encounter on Tayside before the evergreen winger fired in a double as the Hoops claimed a tension-laden 2-1 win with the hosts piling on the pressure in search of an equaliser after Adam Idah had inadvertently deflected an effort past Joe Hart.
That set up a grandstand finale, but when the smoke of battle cleared, the visitors had maintained their three-point advantage at the Premiership pinnacle with only four games to go.
NUMBER ONE…James Forrest lets fly with a right-foot drive to open the scoring for Celtic against Dundee at Dens Park in April.
It’s history now that Celtic lifted their third successive crown with an eight-point advantage as the pressure of the run-in derailed Philippe Clement’s Ibrox outfit.
Forrest and his team-mates will be hoping there is no such anxiety when the sides lock horns at Parkhead tonight.
The 33-year-old forward also has an individual aim against the Dens Parkers on this occasion. The prolific attacker has scored in every season since his debut in 2009/10 – but is still waiting for his first strike of the current campaign.
Forrest, who has hit over a century of goals for his only club, has been a key member of Rodgers’ player pool and said: “It’s good for the manager and players to use the squad.
“Maybe for the first four games of the season we had a week to every game, but now the games are coming thick and fast
“And at a big club like Celtic, you are in every competition and all the boys are looking forward to it.
NUMBER TWO…James Forrest slams in a left-fot shot for the winner with Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah getting a good close-up view.
“I’ve been really enjoying my football, I had a good pre-season and I’m enjoying helping the team when I’ve been involved.
“It shows the confidence we have in the squad and you can make two or three changes with different personnel for different games, as well. Over the next couple of months that’s definitely going to help us.”
Forrest, speaking to Celtic TV, added: “I’ve been at the club for years now and that’s always been the case.
“I think especially in the forward positions it’s good to have more options and freshen it up at times.
“It keeps everyone on their toes and you know that when you get a chance you need to perform and help the team.
“So far this season, all of the boys have been doing that.”
