TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT FOR SIR ROD

0

SIR Rod Stewart was rocking with the Celtic fans in the Olympic Stadium last night as Neil Lennon’s men stormed back from the loss of an early Lazio goal to emerge victorious with a stoppage-time effort from Olivier Ntcham.

James Forrest levelled Ciro Immobile’s early strike before the Frenchman waltzed through in the 95th minute to clip in the points-clincher that gave the Parkhead side their first-ever win on Italian soil at the 13th attempt.

The 74-year-old singer made some noise for the Bhoys along with the estimated 8,000 travelling support in Rome on a dramatic and memorable occasion.

Rocker Rod was seen chanting “Glasgow’s green and white” with the fans in the Italian capital before, during and after the Europa League Group E encounter.

The former Faces frontman thoroughly enjoyed the evening and may have given the supporters a rendition of his classic “Tonight’s The Night” at the end of an evening that marked a momentous triumph for his favourites.

Now we are sailing into the knock-out stages with two games still to play.
