St Mirren are on a Christmas hangover which lasted past Valentines and through to the end of winter (today). Their nine league games in that period have brought defeats to St Johnstone, Dundee, Kilmarnock, Hearts, Dundee United and Celtic.
The only team outside the top four who have not recorded a win over St Mirren in that time is Ross County, who last met the Paisley side a few days before Christmas. Despite that, there is a buoyancy around Steve Robinson’s side, largely because of results against the teams in second, third and fourth in the table.
You probably didn’t hear, as the result did not materially affect Celtic’s lead, but a week ago, St Mirren beat Newco for the second time since Christmas. They also went to Pittodrie and won 0-3 and are the only team to stop Hibs scoring in their last 14 games, when the teams drew 0-0 earlier this month.
Defeat to Hearts midweek meant they slipped out of the top six with five games to play before the split. Claiming another top four scalp tomorrow is beginning to look crucial to their chances of a close to the season that delivers a good payday.
Our two earlier games against St Mirren this season ended in 3-0 wins for the champions. If anything, the away performance was more convincing. The extra day’s rest Celtic have, combined with St Mirren’s less familiar challenge of playing twice in a week, should be enough to see another sound win for the visitors. After all, the gap between top of the table, and those in second, third and fourth, is as wide as Paisley Abbey.

Furst – again ?
New stand would probably mean a season at hampdump
Wee Marco Tilio scored again incidentally.
But the 17-yr old a lot of folks are talking of downunder is left-sided Western United CB Dylan Leonard – impressively solid (save for some scrappy distribution) for such a callow yoof.
COYBIG Tomorrow!!
Celtic have been hit with another fine from UEFA due to fan misconduct during the Champions League clash against Young Boys last month.
But the financial penalty from European football’s governing body is a modest £13,0000 after the Scottish Premiership champions were sanctioned over the “blocking of public passageways” under article 38 of UEFA Safety and Security Regulations.
Bada
That’s what stewards are supposed to control
Gene- are we the only Club that gets fined? The whole YB section had a massive pyro display before the game, did they get done?
Bada
No idea about YB but we’re certainly a favourite
How do they know the passageways are blocked. Is there a UEFA rep standing in the North curve or wherever.
Do the police or the media report it , never understood that one. At least with pyros it’s obvious
So Trump is meeting Charlie in Scotland – on the first tee on the old course, Trump asks “what do you play off” Charlie responds ” the backs of my subjects” Trump replies “me too – we’re going to get along just fine”
conflicting stories.
If Hibs are getting 7000 tickets that is the away sexction and one third of the lisbon lions lower and upper, but celtic season car holders have not been told they are moving.
i would be quite happy to see a packed celtic park with away support for a real cup tie.

Wee BAZZA is ALREADY MOANING about the number of tickets allocation for the Hun fans at Celtic Park, as wants MORE !

*by using that term hate Jimmy, we are just lowering ourselves tae their despicable level, what I now say is the term that Liam Neeson used when acting as Michael Collins “I hate them for making hate necessary”

Yes, WISE WORDS from Big Liam.
That is exactly how I feel, as over the years I have had a few GREAT Hun mates, that I could trust and rely on….more than SOME Celtic fans that I met.
HH Mate.
YB done too for pyro. Heavier fine.

With regards to the ned Ferguson, one thing he will bring to the xxxx guaranteed is he will get them to stick the boot in, something he admitted when he sent his Alloa team out to do just that, putting a player out for months. He has also filled his back room team with a load of same minded true blues except that wee McCann, in my opinion he is just as bad as Johnston
*hmmm I believe that he’s worse as the wee trackie sellers da was a bluenose, it was his mum that was the ben affleck, so when I heard that he had he joined in with the huns at a supporters event I wisnae really that surprised and lets NOT forget that when Neilly Mochan took the Catholic players to Holy Mass on the Saturday night before a big game against them he was the only one that didnae go, didnae stop him fae blessing himself when getting sent off against them the following day, btw that info came fae Danny McGrain who wisnae very pleased with his phony gesture
Oh, and he wisnae the first in the modern era tae play for them as wee spencer was already on their books, my gripe with him is more so the humiliation that he put on our greatest ever captain
Now as for that wee Inverclyde raphael and his pretentious love in for them, IMHO its all about his wee namesake no sanctioning us signing him, he was also the catalyst for that near riot in that alleged coin throwin game, I say alleged as experts in that field have stressed that it was almost impossible for the bonkle bigot to have been struck by any missile from that distance, anyway it was his tackle on big Stephane that caused the big mhan to be sent off for vigorously complaining about it.
And when ogilvie was caught singing sectarian songs on the night after they had clinched the league at parkheid who was standing beside him laughing away, I honestly don’t believe he joined in, but he was enjoying himself, so as Our Lord said on the Cross on that Good Friday “Father forgive them for they know NOT what the do” I’m going tae give the wee former harry wragg the benefit of the doubt but no that wee scheidt.
Terrible news for Rangers fans as the club confirms their away supporters will be able to attend the match against Celtic next month.

So nothing wrong with Maeda goal last week……so who lied and said they had factual proof the ball was out?
BADA BING,
The print is too small for me to read but if the assertion is that the ball was definitely out, Celtic should demand proof, which, so far, has not been forthcoming.
“The majority (4:1) of the panel deemed the on-field decision of goal to be correct. They felt the factual VAR intervention for the ball being out of play was incorrect. One panel member felt VAR was correct to intervene as they belived one of the angles showed the ball out of play.”
That last sentence is unbelievable, apart from the spelling, someone believed an angle shows ball out. Now it either shows the ball out or not. Nothing to do with “believed” , which is subjective, would love to know who Mr Believed is 🤔

So effectively the SFA confirm the goal should have stood and Celtic were denied a point.
I wonder if Brendan told the board that he wanted away fans at Ibrox. Our last appearance there resulted in our worse performance of the season and having no fans unsettled the team. 96% home fans will be enough in next game but it’s the Ibrox game where we get a chunk of tickets where the difference could be made.
Maybe not the Free Broadloan but better than zero
What are the chances that the one dissenter is the same guy who went against Celtic the last time it was a 4-1?
Rhetorical question!
Rangers are on top
