In his Q&A session with the Daily Record yesterday, outgoing SPFL chairman, Ralph Topping touched on the subject of who knew what when, regarding Rangers slide into liquidation saying:
“There wasn’t one single person ever who envisaged this case happening. You tell me who pointed out that this was going to happen – did you?
“The biggest assumption about the set-up in the SPL would be that you would have Rangers and Celtic playing in it in perpetuity – nobody thought that those two bastions of football would ever be involved in anything like this and nobody flagged it up.”
Well, in October 2011 I knew. This CQN article from 27 October 2011 notes in very specific detail Rangers were going to liquidate, a phoenix would be created which wanted direct access to the SPL (the top flight at that time). I got the timing wrong, predicting the phoenix would take place during the season, but to be fair, it later became clear this was Craig Whyte’s plan at the time.
Ralph Topping’s SPL knew too. Rangers alerted them to the situation that very month. The SPL spend November, December and January preparing the ground for Rangers administration and liquidation, a period during which a new TV deal was signed.

Just saw on a Jambos site – Austin Mc Phee and Jon Daly to take temporary charge of the team.
Hertz will probably sign a half decent manager in November/December . Give their big cousins time to get a comfortable 15 points ahead of them. (Although their big cousins will be at least 15 points behind us at that stage!)

Lee Rigby has been adopted as some kind of mascot by, among others, the proto (and some not so proto) fascists of the EDL and the like. The song was sung to antagonise those elements, not because those singing it supported the murder. Stupid and immature behaviour, fueled by drink and possibly recreational drugs. But underlying that a sense of anger and outrage at the views of Laxley-Lennon and his supporters, views that they see as anathema to the culture and traditions of Celtic ‘a Club founded by immigrants’.

As if I gaf abut the judgement of a guy who wanted to know details of the source of funding for Res 12 Lawyers at a time when the nasties were trying to do the same thing.
I’ve already had a word with the SFSA and its a judgement call for them. I’ve no intention of saying anything that will undermine their objective that long before I was aware of them required a lot of work to put a supporter movement together. You seem quite happy for that to happen.

It seems to me that your only interest from the off has been to attack the Celtic Board for allowing TRFC into Scottish football and when that chance was lost at an AGM rammy you transfered that anger to those you think stopped it happening.
When I have to put up with the malevolence from such as you I wish I hadnt got involved. It has soured my thinking and wakened me up to the fact Celtic is a family with some members I would happily avoid.
Given how much other clubs want their share of the blue pound they are prepared to ignore integrity completely then what chance did Celtic have of preventing TRFC being allowed into football happening?
Its all judgement calls and if it makes you and Neganon2 happy I think the most disastrous one was Celtic not voting for Res12.
I’ve been keeping my powder dry on that as it’s a judgement call. Would it be the right thing to do and if so when would it be the right time to do it?
