‘TOTALLY DIFFERENT THIS YEAR,’ DEILA

RONNY DEILA insists his Celtic side have enough quality to beat a strong Qarabag team in the Champions League third qualifier in the east end of Glasgow tomorrow.
The Hoops were eliminated early last season, but the Norwegian said: “It’s a totally different situation this year.”

Deila had only been in charge for a few weeks when they losthome and away to Polish champions Legia Warsaw 12 months ago.

And, after that result had been overturned by UEFA, they went out to NK Maribor, losing the second leg 1-0 at Parkhead after a well-fought 1-1 draw in the first leg in Slovenia.
But the Celtic gaffer said: “This time, we’ve had good pre-season and played some good matches.
“There is a good mood in the team and we have the quality to make it through.”

Deila says there are similarities in the playing styles of Celtic and Qarabag, who have won their domestic title two seasons in a row.

He added: “They like to be offensive and play their full-backs high up the pitch.

“We have prepared well and know the team, but in the end it’s about us. We are ready.”
