Trading well is everything. Two years ago we watched a World Cup game between our then right back, playing for Croatia, and the right back we were interested in, who played for Canada. Josip Juranovic went to the semifinal with Croatia, while Alistair Johnston’s Canada went home without a point.
Celtic’s recruitment system told them to trade Josip and buy Johnston. Alistair was the gold nugget lost in the MLS. This and trades like it, gave Celtic a football identity which brought the latest wave of trophies. It is Tier 1 operating mechanism, learned from City Football Group, and aligned to what Hearts have now signed up with.
I am delighted Alistair has signed a new deal that could keep him at the club until 2029. He has the ability and fitness to be a stand out for us in the Champions League for all that time.
Still, ‘Trading well is everything’. You and I have learned so much since we watched the wheels come off Martin O’Neill’s great team, as it expired through age. My suspicion is that we will do less trading like the Juranovic-Johnston deals going forward and more deals like Adam Idah and Arne Engels.
The deal is a good boost ahead of the trip to Tynecastle, not to mention this morning’s AGM.

Your trick re. logging in/refreshing last page worked. Big big thanks.
Ave Ave
passed the badgers hovel twice today,
it might be a concellation for them but that was a sparse crowd turning up with 15 minutes till the kick off,
this will reduce the boos somewhat,
on the return journey there is a stream of “walk awayers” literally doing just that just after halftime.
hahahahss – I think their attendances from kick off are down this season too

BBC scotland live report by Colin Moffat
FULL-TIME Rangers 1-1 Dundee United
Rangers drop points at Ibrox for the first time this season but have actually gained a point on Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership. The gap between the two now stands at eight points after the Dons’ defeat by St Mirren.
ahahahahahahaha
Late kick off didn’t help us
Belgian Beale
The huns dire, really dire.
Ibrox is half empty and those in there are silent or booing
Over to you Celtic.
Are they still playing at IBrokes ?
Incentive to go clear on our own now and a clear lead over whichever team is in third place at this point in the season. International break hasn’t caused us too many problems and keeps Tony Ralston in game time.
Lets see if we can regain our momentum at what could well be a key moment in the season.
Huns v Dundee utd…
I had my Computer on the Bookies BET365 with the LIVE Score on screen next to the CLOCK.
There was 8 Minute 10 seconds of injury time played in the 2nd half……when the BET365 Clock STOPPED at Full Time….” 98 minutes 10 seconds” played in the 2nd half.
The Bookies are ALWAYS TIME PRECISE on Fitba/Rugby matches etc…
I don’t know IF the added time was for a serious injury or what…..or just the Ref giving the Huns as much time as possible to score a winner ?
LOL.
