Talk of trebles can disappear over the space of 90 minutes, and Ronny Deila will be forced to learn new patter if his team cannot regain the edge which was lost on Wednesday night at Celtic Park. The challenge will be all the greater for the absence of cup-tied Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven, with others, including Kris Commons and Emilio Izaguirre.
Dundee United have fallen apart in the last few weeks, the departure of Armstrong and Mack-Steven has probably had something to do with this, which means they will be hurting. Make no mistake, Celtic harmed their season by signing their best two players five weeks ago. United will have an edge to them.
Just loving the celebrations that one of the world’s richest 400 people no longer controls a Scottish football club. He still controls pretty much all profitable revenue streams, and holds security over assets, but he’ll no longer be asked to provide loan players, or loan cash. They have swapped an ‘off the radar’ wealthy man for a glib and shameless liar.
Ashley repulsed many. He was the archetypal fox let into the Ibrox hen house. The juxtaposition of Celtic announcing a £29m shirt deal with New Balance, rights Ashley bartered for £1 at Ibrox, gives you an idea of how impaired newco are. But allowing him to walk off with all those revenue streams, without the responsibility of running football operations, which will always lose money, is inexplicable.
I know people in the game who were concerned about having an opponent with the resources of Ashley. That blocking SFA decision was crucial. I don’t know anyone concerned about King, in fact, there is quiet delight at how things transpired.
Farewell Big Mike, thanks for all your work.

I note that Jason Denayer has effectively served notice that he will be going back to Man City in the summer to fight for his place.
Now, young Jason is a good prospect but putting aside the fact the Man City have at least 3 proven internationals ahead of him in the pecking order, I noticed today that they also have a young centre back called Karim Rekik, who, like JD has been out on loan this year.
He has played 42 games for PSV on loan and also been capped by Holland.
I’m guessing both him and JD will not be included in the Man City squad of 25.
Furthermore, they have a boy who will be 19 in the summer called Mathias Bossaerts who, again, is a centre back. He is Belgian and has a good pedigree.
Given our relationship with Man City – via the Lawwell family and Ronny – i’d think we would have a chance of getting one of the 3 on loan next year.
I know not everyone agrees with loans but more and more clubs with budgets larger than ours use the loan system.
Good post.I am sure RD will be looking at these.Quality loans are great.Denayer has been brilliant.I am sure Man City are delighted at the experience he has had.
For example, last year’s £16m loss doesn’t just disapear
How can people be so stupid as to celebrate the return of two men who presided over the demise of their once ‘great’ Rangers? Mind boggling!

begin the SPL season in April means bigger crowds, better times for TV games once the EPL is finished and team fully primed for Champions League qualification into the group stage and better pitches. Not rocket science.
Yep,could not agree more, but all we have are “Pure Rockets “running our game.
Douglas Park? That will be the bus sorted ,with the Kray Twins out the road
” Are you the Devil ?
” No, good sir, I’m on the level “
Teg – sounds like a plan.
I like the giving the guys a chance – but would be scared to have no cover.

In a perfect world,I would agree, but the finances are not with us.RD told us when Jason came,he was already valued at £10 million. We landed so lucky with VVD,and he has been a star.We have no one to step up to the class we require to fill in for these two,and to find another VVD is a tall order. If we can get high class loanees in like Jason for very small money, why not.If there is a CH out there,by all means buy,but I am not sure with the budget we have,we could be as lucky again.
Do we have any CQN’ers in Baton Rouge Louisiana?
67heaven ….
Neganon,no need for apologies I’m cognisant of your challenges.
I too would behave a little strangely if everyone was out to get me.

Apparently they didn’t know the debt was bank debt – they thought DM was putting in his own money!
Now if that’s really true (ahem) it doesn’t say much about their ability to read the accounts……

If Denayer goes back to man city I would hope young O,connell would get his chance to stake his claim in fact as soon as the league is won I would like to see him get a run of games I think he has bags of potential HH
What, for the CL qualifiers?.Dont think so.Far too inexperienced at the moment. Also, dont think he has the required pace we will need. Not at the moment for me.
Can someone help me out here, have they been voted onto the company or the club’s board ? I think it’s the company, so what happens with the club board ?
Bank borrowings stood at £48m when GSL invested his £20m btw…
