TRFC submit incomplete Annual Return

1075

Companies House published the long overdue Annual Return for The Rangers Football Club Ltd (previously Sevco Scotland Ltd) today.  Although only received by Companies House yesterday (12 Sep 13) it was dated 29th May 2013, however, the submission was incomplete.

A company is required to detail all their shareholders since their previous Annual Return (or as in this instance, since formation).  Companies House say the Annual Return must detail “the name of every shareholder (or joint-shareholders) who has ceased to be a shareholder since the made-up date of the previous annual return (or in the case of a first return, since the incorporation of the company)”.

The only shareholder detailed on this Annual Return is Rangers International Football Club PLC (RIFC PLC).  RIFC PLC was not formed until 16 November 2012, nearly four months after Sevco Scotland Ltd was formed, so could not have been a founding shareholder.

And there’s more…….

The Rangers Football Club Ltd issued a Statement of Capital to Companies House, dated 31 October 2012, showing the same number of shares in issue as this Annual Return (33,415,200), some two weeks before Rangers International was formed.  The Statement of Capital was submitted by Caroline Nicholls of Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP, who should be in a position to assist the directors.

I’d never really given any consideration to who owned Sevco Scotland Ltd  prior to the shares being consumed by Rangers International, but this omission is curious.  The story will move on now with auditors Deloittes taking centre stage.  They have plenty on their plate prior to signing off the PLC’s accounts so may be happy to turn a blind eye to the reporting requirements of a subsidiary company.  Companies House already have an active issue over submissions for Sevco 5088 Ltd, it remains to be seen whether this one passes below the radar.

This is all so unnecessary as I am sure the correct information would be perfectly appropriate and in good order.

Can you imagine what we would be doing if our ‘club’ was being run in this manner?  This story is being played out while all those who should be asking questions are being distracted by a player betting against his own club!

In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter if Ian Black hedges against himself, or what embarrassingly light punishment he receives.  The real story is so much bigger, it is being written in large type, visible from the moon landings, but the football authorities appear happy to stand back and let events take their course.

No looks of surprise next time around – from anyone.

Sadly, disappointing but I recognise, Celtic’s remoteness and silence is also a matter public duty.

You can be rest assured the lives and yes, I mean lives of Celtic fans everywhere and especially in Glasgow, would be threatened if Celtic became involved with words describing the liquidated football club.

A feeling of desolation for Celtic fans will be fully restored, if the liquidated club are treated as

    before by Celtic.

The question will arise in the future and Celtic supporters the world over await Celtic’s reaction, and if it’s not in keeping with symbolising that we will or may play a new club, – Celtic FC will have failed, in the same way the cheats including the SFA SPL and society have failed.

    No problem.

I defended FF when he was being heavily criticised in his early career, more about where he came from than about what he was doing for us.

I also held back from the excessive praise he got for his “form turn-around”, which I felt was no such thing, merely continued progression. he was never as bad as he was portrayed and he was also not good enough to be acclaimed England’s number one, as he was.

He was always a very promising young keeper with the potential to be very good. As a shot stopper he is up there with Artur Boruc, the only good keeper we have had in modern times (David Marshall did not stay long enough to develop into a reliable keeper).

Unlike Artur, he is not yet dominating his defence and Neil has accommodated this by organising his defence to suit the goalie and his strengths and weaknesses. Fraser is not as commanding as Artur in some skill areas but he has a more stable personality, works harder at his improvement and has better concentration which is vital for a Celtic keeper in the SPL.

I see very few keepers now attempting to dominate beyond their 6 yard box when it is croded with defenders and attackers. The punishment for goalies leaving their line and losing the last line handling option is very severe. Modern forwards are very cute about blocking off legitimately and all the best keepers Buffon, Reina, Cassilas etc; do not stary from their box in the way that Packie Bonner used to (and not always to good effect).

Fraser is, in my opinion, England’s second best keeper. Even their best keeper is prone to make errors and so is Fraser and every other keeper on the planet. We will never get a flawless keeper but I see few viable alternatives within our price bracket and that includes employing Shay Given in his form fading years. He might do well for 6 months or so but Shay would not last long as a reliable keeper and would be a more expensive option

In retrospect this morning, I realised I was basically asking you to vocalise my own opinions for me – it’s not for me to tell you what to say, so mea culpa ! But I’m still of the opinion re the TSD, a completely ineffective troll, that your debating ability could be better spent on the numerous worthwhile debates. Again not for me to boss you – just expressing thoughts, as in all honesty, if you can forgive the sycophancy, you are clearly one of the best debators on this fine site, and my comments came out of respect for that.

    Re

“I do not ascribe to secret lizard people, alien abductions, New World Order (its mostly the age old order of the rich and powerful), Zionist World Rule (that red herring has a dubious provenance), or Millennial Last Day on Earth thinking.”

    Neither do I.

I don’t know whether these exist or not*.

What I was referring to was some of the very important Celtic related debates that take place here. Your debating skills and lucid thinking were clearly missed during that transfer window – it was horrendous at times.

When some folk claim intellectual superiority over those that do subscribe to certain theories or ideas, for example, over mine-shafters for claiming board collusion with hun rescue etc etc (insert any argument), it says a lot about them and their inability to debate.

These are the ones I’d prefer you to shed some enlightenment on, rather wasting your precious time on a troll that I think probably most of us ignore. People that defend the board aggressively here and ruin some good debate, can often times be seen in the same breath launching unfounded, even fantastical tirades of abuse against sections of the Celtic Support.

(Ironically, I can’t offer a counter argument to that as I can’t think of a single mine-shafting post that has also laid into the Support). I’m not a mine-shafter or happy clapper – I’m a middle-roader, seeing various good points being made from both arguments, and important questions being asked.

Anyway, like I said, I should have kept schtum – it’s not for me to dictate your debating policy! And it is indeed a pleasure to see you back.

    * The NWO is a reality, not a theory. It’s a label used by Bush senior (since back in the early 90s), Bush junior, Barack Obama, Gordon Brown and plenty others, a a blueprint for the future. I suppose the conspiracy concerns arise when we ask what that plan actually is.

With the position of goal keeper being a very specialised one surely getting a kid of say 15 and coaching him from now until the first team would result in us having a very good keeper.

Obviosuly there needs to be a fair amount of natural ability but the rest could be coached into a youngster. Unlike an outfield player a goal keeper is all about confidence and coaching.

The best period in a goal keepers career is usually in their mid to late 30’s. Usually by then they have made all their mistakes and have gained sufficient experience in the game to handle all situations. They know that they will make mistakes and it’s how you handle them. You don’t let the confidence drop. I think that is the key for a goal keeper. The best keeprs are super confident. Check out Buffon. The guy was chocloate he would eat himself but he gives his team mates confidence by the way he swaggers around his penalty box. He has always been like that. He is super confident and he has excellent ability to back it up.

Goal keepers also need to have an element of control of their defence and have decent organisational skills. They must be able to communicate. This I believe could also be coached from an early age.

Like no other position on the pitch yoiu should be able to bring a keeper through and coach them right into the first team.

I am no football expert, just a fan who thinks he knows it all. Maybe someone better in the know with these situations could prove me why this couldn’t happen.

I think I will train my Bhoy to be a keeper once he can walk. We seem to always have a shortage at Paradise. I could handle my Bhoy being Celtic’s No1 for 15 years!

A price which I imagine would be a lot dearer if wasn’t for season ticket holders putting their money up front season after season. It’s only right that season ticket holders have first choice on surplus champions league tickets for their families as I suspect that a lot of their families have had to make a few sacrifices over the years so that the at least one person in the family had a ticket. There is also the likliehood that there is the chance that there is more than one person investing in the same season ticket

  23. iPaddy McCourt Supports Wee Oscar on

On the issue of Champions League tickets, I’m a season ticket holder but I don’t think it’s fair that I can buy up to 4 additional packages and give them to whoever I like, including folk with no interest in attending domestic matches. It’s not fair on supporters who cannot afford to attend every game but do attend some games. The fair way to sell tickets after season ticket holders have taken their CL allocation would be to give priority to the to non-season ticket holders who attend the qualifiers. A simple points-based system could operate. This would have the effect of ensuring full houses for the qualifiers and seeing genuine supporters take their seats for the big glamour games.

Of course, Celtic won’t bother doing this because they would argue that season ticket sales would fall if all you needed to do to have a good chance of getting a seat for the group stages is to attend the qualifiers. However, I believe that the vast majority of season ticket holders would renew regardless to give them an absolute guarantee of securing their tickets.

This morning I tried to call to book two packages for mates who had to give up their season tickets for financial reasons at the end of last season. The usual farce of not getting through and not getting placed in a call queue and getting charged 10p every time. The website was no better due to not coping with the high demand. Eventually it was announced that the tickets were all sold out and I thought that was that. It then transpired on Twitter half an hour later that there were in fact still tickets available online despite the website saying the opposite. I managed to bag two packages in 412.
