TRIAL IN SWEDEN FOR EX-CELT

EX-CELT Holmbert Fridjonsson is a target for Swedish champions IFK Norrkoping.
The Icelandic striker, 22, never made a first team appearance for the Hoops after arriving from Fram on January 1 2014 in a £100,000 deal.
Fridjohnsson, who agreed a four-year contract at Parkhead, was loaned to Brondby in August that year for a season. He scored one goal in 11 appearances for the Danes and was returned to the SPFL champions.
His contract was scrapped by “mutual consent” in July 2015.
The frontman, who netted 11 goals in 53 games for Fram, returned to Iceland to join KR Reykjavik the following week.
Now he is going on trial at Noorkoping and coach Jan Andersson believes he deserves his opportunity despite flopping in Glasgow.
The Swedish boss said: “This is a player who went away to Celtic a bit too early, returned home and has built himself up.
“I have not seen him live, but we have done research.”
Fridjonsson will arrive in Sweden today and train with the club until Wednesday. We hope it goes well for the bhoy.
