AUSTON TRUSTY has been in the news in recent days – it appears mainly for all the wrong reasons!
Celtic’s USA international centre-back was involved in a flashpoint incident after a coming-together with keeper Jack Butland in the holders’ 3-1 Premier Sports League Cup semi-final win over Danny Rohl’s Ibrox side at Hampden on Sunday.
The opposition wanted Trusty to see red while referee Nick Walsh reckoned it warranted a yellow card.
The Govan gaffers continued to complain before announcing they hadn’t been satisfied with the reasons given by the authorities for the defender remaining on the pitch.

TOP BHOY…Auston Trusty with the Hampden Man of the Match award.
Trusty, who won the Man of the Match award after a solid defensive display alongside Liam Scales, is now preparing to face FC Midtjylland in the Europa League in Denmark this evening – and this time he wants to be in the headlines for all the right reasons.
The towering pivot, who cost £6million when he joined from Sheffield United on summer deadline day last year, is looking forward to the challenge of the Danes and said: “We’re feeling good.
“Any chance to play in Europe we’re buzzing about and we’re really excited to show what we have.
“We want to make Celtic proud and make our fans proud, so we’re all looking forward to the opportunity.”
Trusty, speaking to Celtic TV, added: “I live for these moments. This is what football is all about, the big games.
“This is the pride of Celtic, performing in Europe and showing the brand of Celtic on a global stage.
“That’s what it’s all about, so any opportunity we can get to perform, we do that.”
