TWO HOOPS BIDS REJECTED

CELTIC have failed with TWO bids for Nice left-back Romain Perraud.

Respected French sports daily newspaper L’Equipe, who broke the news of the Hoops’ £7million move for Toulouse centre-half Christopher Jullien, published the tale of the champions’ interest in the full-back.

Perraud spent last season on loan at Paris FC and is looking for a permanent move from Patrick Veira’s club, despite being contracted until 2021.

The publication does not specify the cash the Hoops have offered, but it is likely the Parkhead outfit, who expect to unveil Jullien as their first summer signing today, will make a third move for the in-demand defender.

According to L’Equipe, a dozen clubs have expressed an interest in Perraud with fellow-French side Brest and the eight-in-a-row champions at the head of the queue.

So far Nice have refused to name their price for the player and appear to be actively encouraging a bidding war between the two main protagonists.
