Uefa yesterday confirmed how they would deal with with Financial Fair Play (FFP) with respect to the crisis. Their statement had a bit of something for everyone: those who are keen to see FFP rules applied and those who are looking for some wriggle room.
Of the six emergency measures, two encapsulated both sides of this coin:
“Neutralising the adverse impact of the pandemic by allowing clubs to adjust the break-even calculation for revenue shortfalls reported in 2020 and 2021, while at the same time protecting the system from potential abuses
“Addressing the actual problem which is revenue shortfall due to COVID-19 and not financial mismanagement”
Protecting the system from potential abusers and not providing cover for financial mismanagement are strong messages. Miscreant clubs who have wallowed in financial mismanagement are under Uefa monitoring remain under pressure, the best they can hope for is a one-year reprieve from consequences.
Congratulations to SPFL chief executive, Neil Doncaster, who was appointed to the Uefa Disciplinary Body yesterday, recognition, I’m sure, of the manner he handled himself in recent months.

“It’s a HARD fact, it’s a PROVEN fact…
We back the manager
We get better players
We have more success
Revenue Increases”
In Tony Mowbrays season in charge Celtic spent more on transfer fees than in Lenny’s first. We net spent 3m under Mowbray, made 7.5m in Lenny’s first season
Under Lenny our net spend in transfers was something like -25m, our wage bill was lower in real terms than under WGS and Mowbray, our net spend per season under Lenny was about the same as under Deila, the wage bills iirc also roughly similar

Gotta love the Albanian President
Still sure Lenny took someone, not signed for the club on pre-season,to Austria,Germany.Positive it was young Strachan.Played midfield for part of a couple of games. He was playing for Peterboro at the time.
Positive.Anyone remember.
Have the Huns signed up anyone to put out their games to ST holders,as we have done.Have not seen anything.
Rino Gattuso would be “delighted” to return to Rangers if managerial position became available
When not IF.

Can we start a group to challenge this?.
They have obviously lied

A group already exists to take mattersforward in a balanced manner.
They have indeed lied.

Could not agree more. The German Football model is ideal, with fans owning 51% of the club. And I don’t believe the players are paid anything like the EPL for example.
Change of tack here, but does anyone agree with me that De Gea is massively over-rated, i agree with Roy Kean, the guy is way over hyped like the two donkeys, John Stones and Big Harry at ManUre, ffs
Back to SOUTH OF TUNIS.
You’d better get back on here with your reggae or I’ll be forced to bore you with some hard assed blues!!

Re the financial hit likely to befall Our Great Club…………I can understand that our cash reserves will be hit dramatically by the current situation…….what I can’t comprehend is why there isn’t an OBVIOUS almighty financial crashing kalamity at Kovid FC…………
Shouldn’t there be a bankruptcy vigil and interrogative questioning of all or any “deals” that Klub is associated with?
========
If I had say £50k in the bank with a dependable income stream and my neighbour had nothing in the bank but a dependable income then if my bank balance hit the rocks, he and I are on the same financial basis.
Now if we both only spend what we could afford including property maintenance the new equilibrium would not make a lot of difference to our respective lives in relative terms.
However if he is pound foolish whilst I’m penny wise the equilibrium is lost.
THAT is the danger Celtic face and with club licensing proving to be as useful as a chocolate teapot in financial fair play terms, and with Celtic quite prepared to ignore the cost to them of fraudulent behaviour during club licensing in 2011 for 7 years (never mind titles lost to an unlawful ebt fueled club then either the large investors make up the shortfall from supporter raised income or they risk 10iar going south.
I would like to see what Scottish football has needed for years ie domestic FFP and I would particularly like to hear what Celtic’s policy will be in the event of a serious shortfall in both capital reserve and ST income.
What I would find completely unacceptable is Celtic’s current stance excusing themselves from pursuing Res12 which is it is a matter between SFA and another member club when that member club as proved itself most untrustworthy not to mention the SFA being the ice cream muffin around the chocolate teapot.
That is the kind of assurance I would want before handing over a penny into a game when the preservation of “Rangers” took precedence over honest exchange with our own shareholders and supporters.
ST renewed after weighing up all circumstances and deciding to support the club in these difficult times in the hope that it may make some small contribution to our goal of 10IAR.
I fully understand and respect those fans who have issues with Covid-19 fallout and the VST system, in particular those with multiple family STs. It’s a tough call when you are a long standing ST holder.
Even a phased return to normal with socially distanced crowds might mean my seat being pulled once, maybe twice from the ballot (how else can they equitably select fan attendees?) and i don’t want to miss the opportunity to support the team in person, now and in seasons to come.
This will not however prevent me from continuing to campaign to hold the those responsible to account for the handling of Res 12, the 5-Way-Agreement and related issues – the truth must be acknowledged and justice pursued.
If I had say £50k in the bank with a dependable income stream and my neighbour had nothing in the bank but a dependable income then if my bank balance hit the rocks, he and I are on the same financial basis

What’s your neighbour spending while you dip into your savings account ?
Embramike
The once famed ( on CQN) `cognitive dissonance`came into play for me re; renewal of ST and, more strongly, the refund issue.
In the end, I have rid myself of the dissonance by putting Celtic, the plc, on one side of the divide and Celtic, my team , on the other. In so doing, I was perfectly comfortable in renewing to help my team and just as sneaky as Celtic seemed to be when it came to the refund ( and I do accept that at least Celtic offered a refund).
I have applied for the refund but I won`t deposit the cheque.
Cognitive Dissonance Rule OK. …Ya Bass.
It will be spun positively, but make no mistake, that 32k season ticket story is desperation.
Turkeybhoy-a quick Google says young strachan started coaching at Peterborough in 2011.
Hope that helps
Hot Smoked
Or, cognitive consonance…
Hhmm.
So (according to updates in here) on Friday and Saturday, shortbread run with our cash reserves being depleted
Then on Sunday run with the first season ticket renewals numbers of the close season – this time over at Ibrox?
Hand in glove.
Quelle surprise.
An Dun
What is my neighbour spending? He has nothing to spend but as long as he has nothing to fear from the consequences of of his profligacy, going into deeper debt is not a deterrent to him.
That is my point, there has to be a deterrent better than jeopardising the whole league bcos of insolvency.
It is in Celtics best interest to call out the risks of not having proper policing of spend of others , especially as the failure to do so results in having to pretend no involvement in the 5 Way Agreement that allowed Rangers to avoid the footballing consequences of their cheating.
A total failure to understand that an investment for emotional reasons has an emotional cost to our support.
If a police officer is asking a green brigade member and other anti-racist protesters if they want protection to exit George squad, anyone wanna ask from who? And if there is a threat why peaceful protesters need protection?
Also see some knuckle draggers thinking it’s funny that the green brigade and peaceful protesters accept the protection, sums up difference between left wing socially aware vs right wing morons. One wants to use education and knowledge to achieve change while the other wants to fight, clown
Think I am on the right side of history.

Apart from Packie ,that was a good team.:O)
Robbie Neilson new Hearts manager…
SS- I played in Rotterdam for the fire brigade about a month after that tournament, a few guys we played against kept raving about ‘ the guy with red hair…’
Bada
Tommy or the other bloke ? :O)
Does Robbie Neilson know something that nobody else does?
So hearts want to stop DU from getting promotion and steal their manager 🤔

It was brendan rodgers son anton. Took him to austria and played him as a trialist against lintz in 2017. Hope this helps!

Lack of FFP rules in Scottish football is scandalous. However, their day of reckoning is coming.
For many years, Murray doped Rangers with money from his other businesses and the current board of directors at Sevco have followed the same path, albeit at a reduced scale.
Just as the Credit Crunch did for old Rangers, Covid 19 will do for the current brand.
In the end, the market will pass its judgement.
The guardians of the game in Scotland should be making sure the game is protected from rogue clubs but to do so, hands Celtic the title for another decade and that they will not do.
Sorry previous post should be to turkeybhoy!

——
I’m surprised it’s that low. Sevco can not afford a drop off in season ticket sales given they had a 10million black hole with 45,500 season tickets last season.
Since then they’ve added Helander, Kent and Hagi for £13 million and given Alfredo a dozen contract renewals !
My fear is though that P67 seems to think we’re behind them in ticket sales which is worrying.

My understanding is that we are still less than 30,000 books sold and many who have not yet renewed are the higher value ones.
This is despite Celtic offering over 20,000 refunds compared to our rivals non offer.
This is a major issue if we do not see a significant uplift in next 10 days.
Thanks for the info ,Fairhill Bhoy, and,Leebozbhoy,
Racking my addled brain all day.
So much for the demented saying we could have finished the league. No contact training allowed again.Another week to wait,on a Government decision.Still up in the air, even then.

As I said already, Hearts & Partick have a major problem with any court action, they both participated in the SPFL vote and as such have to accept its outcome.
Further to this, Hearts have also pursued league reconstruction to the point where another vote was taken, again resulting in an unfavourable outcome for Hearts.
The logical conclusion of the league reconstruction campaign is that Hearts were happy to accept the SPFL decision (to terminate season and award titles/promotions etc…) had their reconstruction plans been approved.
The court case is nothing to do with SPFL rules etc…, nor even the COVID crisis, it is simply disgruntled clubs sticking two fingers up to every other club in Scotland, refusing to accept their inevitable fate which would not have happened had they not been so disastrous during the playing season.
Face it, had Hearts and Partick been mid-table in each of their divisions, would they have voted yes to bringing the season to an end? Absolutely!
Would they have even considered league reconstruction? No.
The one and only reason for this court case is an attempt to avoid the fate they deserve.
