Uefa get tough on non-payers

838

Not before time but it’s good to see Uefa get to grips with clubs which fail to pay their dues.  Malaga, who are still this season’s Champions League, have been banned from European competition the next time they qualify.  In the event they win the competition this season, they would join a short ignominious list and become only the third team in history to be banned from defending their trophy by the European governing body. Think of the shame.

Eight other clubs have also been barred from Europe for a season, including our very old friends, Vojvodina.  The message is simple, pay your bills!!!

  1. freddiebhoy-Ulysees and ernie and a few others have correctly marked the card on the hun Begg.A rat.A game last season at Tannadice, Celtic scored but took a couple of minutes to say it.Here’s me thinking a commentator is employed to describe and celebrate goals in the beautiful game……

Not being Kayal’s biggest fan I’d pretty much agree with all of that. His impetuousness can result in him lacking discipline and the team losing shape.

I do think he did quite well yesterday though.

  3. You know Charlie Green might be both a financial and pr genius.

    1) buys shares for £50k, current value c£3.5M and likely to stay at least in the £1.5-2M range, at least.

    2) does his homework and knows that the majority of MSM are Rangers supporters and will therefore never refer to his club by their proper name “The Rangers” as historically that term is only used by Rangers supporters and the journalists are scared to make their allegiances too obvious.

    Thanks, I think.

I don’t get the reference to the four slaughterhouses and will look it up, but I actually quite like real slaughterhouses if they are done in a Temple Grandin humane way, so thanks for that too.

After the Killy game Kayal should have been out the door – Lennon’s biggest mistake was not to punt him.

    Away are the Rangers,

    No chib no forehead,

    The little Lord Jesus

    Laid down His sweet head;

    The huns in the heavens

    Looked down where they play,

    Ibrox BeJesus

    They’re still there today.

  12. When Kayal got his arm operated on he was knocked out it wasn’t just a simple break, might of been his elbow I am not sure. I know one of the people that was responsible for waking him up. They told me it took a few of them to hold him down but once he realised where he was he could not be nicer and said he was very sorry. I was extremely impressed with his first few games for Celtic and thought his only fault was that he was too keen to impress and diving in to tackles that he was either not going to win or get injured. This guy is a real player and I look forward to seeing him playing. Him and Izzy have had their injuries but along with wee forrest back as well then it is looking good.

  13. Is anyone still looking for last-minute gifts?

Is anyone looking for a last-minute gift of a musical kind?

Petec posed the question on Friday night. Tonight I have a secular rather than a spiritual answer, although actually with the people in question it’s always spiritual.

AS a lad I remember Roy Aitken getting tortured soon after his wedding – I honestly can’t repeat what the old geezer was shouting – but you can imagine…

During the stopping ten season, Joe Miller was playing with Aberdeen I’m sure – and the guy that sat behind us (Rangers end halfway between the corner flag and the goals) who was a constant wit, bided his time until Aberdeen got a corner and Joe headed to the flag to take it…

Haw Joe? D’You still sleep wi the light on?

    Nearly pissed myself…

Each and every one of us has a duty to remind them of this in every conversation we have with any of them. We have a responsibility to our fathers and ancestors who suffered for decades in both football and life from the actions of their “club” and fans, a responsibility to ensure our children and our children’s children remind them and theirs that their club died and ceased to exist, history not erased or lost but concluded. I take great joy in knowing we can always remind them of this. The fact they needed to start a new club in Division 3 is good enough for me and is the point that in 20 or 30 years we can still remind them they’re zombies.

I wholeheartedly agree with Canamalar. We have a responsibility, a duty to remind them at each and every opportunity that comes our way.

I believe they decided that the oldco/newco is no longer on the agenda, a total cop out imo.

They refuse to talk about the worst thing affecting scottish football, the referees, another cop out.

    Who are supporting them ????

Me thinks they don’t want to talk about anything that undermines the status quo.
