Uefa-Res 12, Craig Thomson, take a look at yourself

1052

The document from Uefa to the Resolution 12 team, which emerged online over the weekend, is genuine. The headline part of this correspondence was always going to be Uefa confirming that whatever errors or omissions on the part of Old Rangers and the SFA’s Uefa vetting process, no further action was possible as New Rangers are a “new club/new company”.

Priceless, I know, but a delightful wee surprise, though it was, the status of Newco Rangers wasn’t the purpose of Resolution 12. Res 12 was about SFA process and accountability.

There was a great deal of correspondence with media figures since the letter was produced. It’s probably worthwhile noting the chronology of correspondence:

Uefa wrote to the Res 12 team on 6 June, copying the SFA and Celtic. After this date Grant Russell at STV asked Uefa for an update and received pretty much the same information that was sent to the Res 12 guys, without the supporting “new club/new company” line.

You may be of the view that after receiving the 6 June letter, the SFA could have asked Uefa not to offer such information in future (the layers of this story are endless). We’ll never know, but the horse had already bolted.

As correspondence on Res 12 continues, the team decided not to attempt private conversations with Uefa while making correspondence public, which is why this leak didn’t come from the Res 12 team. But I’m glad it’s out. It’s the definitive and irrefutable reference point on the status of Newco Rangers, and it’s on Uefa headed notepaper.

I don’t expect I’ll be goaded about Res 12 online as often going forward.

While we’re on the subject of the SFA: Craig Thomson, take a look at yourself. You know this is not good enough.  Your decision-making this season has been atrocious. James Forrest booking, for staying several yards away from the crowd after scoring a goal, was ludicrous, capping a multitude of errors this month.

If only people at the SFA were accountable. Which brings us back to the point above.

Getting nervous about tomorrow.  So much on the line……

Is it just old folks who hate the Green Brigade?

Or is it just bitter folks that hate the Green Brigade?

Or… wait for it now… is just old, bitter folks that hate the Green Brigade?

    Just asking.

Maybe it’s wiser old folk who can see right through them, and see them for what they are, left wing socialists and students just causing it, and getting kids to do the dirty work waving flags of a country who they couldent even point to it on a map ffs.

Aye he denied some poor sod a pair of lucky shoes! Oh well it was all in the name of Celtic.

He must’ve lost the other one on the way to Seville

  3. The GB/Truss charity sweetner, as predicted by TD67, was almost as quick, slick and sickening, as the Level 5 statement after the cup final.

It was done to try to assuage their guilt in stabbing their club and majority of its supporters in the back, and to divert attention from their treachery.

It won”t work – you can’t wipe out a ticket for speeding, by driving at 20 miles/hour for a week, or, a drink-driving conviction by drinking only Irn Bru for a year.

EUFA will sanction – Celtic will be punished -not to do so because some ‘blood money’ has been raised, would set a precedent and a “charity price list’ for those who would flout the rules.

The deed was wilfully orchestrated in the full knowledge that the only sufferers would be Celtic FC and by association, the majority of fans.

Any consequential sanctions via UEFA, on Celtic FC and the majority of fans was seen as collateral damage.

The GB/Truss are devious manipulators and a danger to Celtic FC.

  4. Lot of talk about how no one from the GB has/have accepted responsibility for instigating the flag waving/demo etc.,

  6. TD67,

Isn’t it the case that we have BR after the shambles of the SC Semi Final?

Would PL’s managerial project RD still be at the helm if we had won the penalties?

Didn’t DD step in and appoint BR, who is doing very well to sort out the 23 signings over two seasons, of PL and RD which cost approx £13m?

Tomorrow night hopefully we’ll make the CL Group Stages despite PL and the money he has cost Celtic shareholders, imo.

  7. Olympics over , and Lynsey Sharp bleating about her defeat in the 800 metres. Maybe she should look at her own work ethic. You can bet that the medallists have been working their bollocks off since 2012 .Roll on tomorrow night, HH

  8. Tony Donnelly – I don’t know you and that makes me happy, if your online persona is an acvurate reflection of who you are. Have a smashing evening.

  9. Watched the first leg stone cold sober. Nails down to the quick.

Tomorrow I intend to have a few, just to ease the nerves. Medicinal if you like.

Interesting to read about the regular poster from the Brazen ( Apologies can’t remember his name) who deliberately will not watch it. I was speaking to some diehards who are exactly the same.

Teetotalers, how do you cope. :-))))

Don’t really have time to get into the ins and outs

However, I’d just point out that every manager since O’Neill has been appointed by DD.

PL interviews the candidates and negotiates their deal but the decision falls on the board. DD is the kingmaker.

People claiming that RD is a PL appointment and BR is a DD appointment are mistaken.

Wee text from Celtic there “reminding” me that I have until 5pm tomorrow to “buy” the boy’s seat for the Sevco match.

He’s on a student season ticket.

He’s also on zero hours at minimum wage making pizzas.

The cost to upgrade for this fixture?

    £40

A day’s work for pizza chefs.

    Hmmm…

Of course, I could buy it for him, thereby, should I choose to go to the match, ensuring that I won’t be sat beside some random Old Firmist, God forbid.

    Or not.

    Awkward.

Yes we are playing better. I think BR will get us passed Sevco if we meet them in another semi final, only a one goal margin though. No matter what we cannot have the good name of the Hibs fans being trashed again. I would ask you to stick it up Peter Lawwells arse but there won´t be much space up there with all the brushes, combs, nose and nail clippers and CQN numpties

Absolute disgrace that a 28 year old player who has been playing lower league football for the last four years has been overlooked for the international team in favour of two younger, better players who have been playing at the highest level.

    What a complete non-story!

  16. TBB –

    What’s a Old Firmist.

If I cheer loudly at a Celtic goal on the 10th, does that make me an old firmist?

I see the tag team duffers are on again tonight. Are they joined at the hip?

I share the pain of those unable to watch the tic on TV. If I’m not there I get too anxious to watch, even if I know we are 3 up with 3 minutes to go I’d be scared to jinx it. I even missed the entire away run for Seville, spending the time on long walks trying to avoid eye contact with all the other Tims I passed doing the same thing. Anyone out for a walk tomorrow?

  22. I hope the morra the Bhoys put another nail in deidco’s coffin.

They can’t cope with the widening financial gap, and the same mindset that saw them plunge into the blender the first time is still prevalent over at the asbestos crumble dome.

The pressure will be on them to compete by spending, which is just lovely.

When the team see us through tomorrow expect fireworks across the hun bigotverse, so get your popcorn in and pull up a seat.
