Celtic have a healthy record at Tynecastle. We lost Ange Postecoglou’s first league game there, in July 2021. Three years before that we lost there in the second game of the season and famously, our record 69 game unbeaten run in domestic football ended there in 2017. Those games aside, we have won 16 of 17 visits there, a run that goes way back to when Neil Lennon was under pressure from the new Craig Whyte regime across the city.
Still, our games there are usually tight. In our last six visits we have only won by more than a single goal once (0-2). Our visit there earlier this season could be described as heroically tight. The Scottish Cup draw, which sees us away to Hearts next month, could scarcely be tougher.
In our favour, we have them at Celtic Park a few days before the cup tie. It will be an opportunity to use our football investments to best effect, put them through a strenuous test, making the most of our depth of squad. They may be able to compete well at Celtic Park, but doing so will take a toll.
In other times we would focus on the league but our glut of trebles still overhangs the consciousness of Scottish football. Few trophies escape Celtic, making every trophy more valuable, including to Celtic.
It is unlike football to quickly get to the point and accept responsibility, but Uefa did just that in their report into the serious safety failings at the Champions League final last year between Liverpool and Real Madrid.
The leaked report laid primary responsibility for the danger on Uefa itself, while the Paris police and French government were also condemned. If risk to life can still happen when the world’s media are there, broadcasting every second, it can happen anywhere.
Scottish football mostly feels safe, unless you are part of a kettled few hundred, boxed in by horses, or with bottles raining down on you. Complacency shown on these matters when we visit Ibrox is a disgrace.

Has Alan Crawford, or any other SFA official, brought up the “Fenian Bast*%d3” songs as an issue when Catholic referees or assistant referees have been officiating at those games where this song was sung? Surely this has been more prevalent at games throughout Scotland as against one banner at one game! They leave themselves wide open to claims of hypocrisy if they comment on the banner and not the more major problem. por cierto
Let me be clear ” Its Westminster’s fault”

Not a word on why a political party leader has a 2nd or 3rd job?
Why does he need that job?
Not a word
Never mind his incompetence in both.
HH
Is there such a thing as bad publicity?
Douglas Ross is a very poor politician and an average Linesman. No more than that.
Why give prominence to a non-entity ?
Videocelts produced this piece at 9:50 this morning after Hibs complaining about VAR
“Since VAR was introduced Crawford Allan and the refereeing department have gone into hiding with decisions every weekend showing that two paid officials don’t understand the Laws of the Game.
It seems that referees have been handed discretion to make their own decisions on a game to game basis.”
Prestonpans Bhoy @ 11:05am.
Interesting. Cheers.
SFA are incompetent – check
VAR implementation inevitably substandard – check
Another club calls them out – check
As for this ref association (I too was blissfully unaware of their existence) complaining about the banner?
Great. Bring it on.
Eventually names, faces, connections will be revealed.
Layers of the onion stuff.
I still hold my view on the use of the C word.
It was crass.
Same message could have been projected with different language.
But it’s done and the reaction has started.
And people who react to others have less time and energy to dedicate to their core “doing”.
First Minister resigns . According to the Sun Ange favourite

He is forwarded for every other position.why not haha

First Minister resigns, watch her speech before walking the dog. Think the succinct version is “I’m pissed aff and had enough, cheerio ”
Well thats my political bit for the year……
I think the Hibs point is one which was raised by a few people on here. It appeared that Clark was sent off for St Johnstone by both the Referee and VAR. I was astonished at the time that they appealed it ( both would then have to be wrong )and I said at the time that the subsequent decision to downgrade the red to yellow was important. It showed that both the referee and VAR didn’t understand the rules. Happy to hear Hibs complaining.
I think this is a bit of a John Fogerty move. When all the less-talented members of the group wanted to write the songs, she listened and told them their songs were crap, but they have insisted. So she is saying- “Go ahead and take your shot”. I doubt the SNP will bomb as badly as that Credence album did but this will hurt them a lot.

Mardi Gras was abysmal. A sorry end to a truly great band.

Seriously? Ffs if true. They’re not even trying to hide it.
Re the cup draw, I almost said to my brother in law that we’d draw Hearts at Tynecastle and they’d get a cushy home draw, but though that’s way too far fetched and I’d sound like a paranoid nutter. 😳🤷🏼♂️😖

*12 year ago the bully boys, a song about a right wing demagogue who died in abject poverty and lies in an unmarked grave as his family couldnae afford a headstone, was banned yet it still gets sung with gusto as under the direction of the sporting wing of the craft clubs are not responsible for their supporters so they can all go forth and multiply.
Can see why a few of our Union supporting fans are delighted Nicola has gone. She fairly decimated the Unionist parties in Scotland.
Bit like the idiot Boyd today saying Ange going would be great for Scottish football.
Seems some minds do think alike.

Completely agree. Make a dig, but do it with grace.
We will need to be at our best cup final day , the leveller is there for all to see .
what other word could be used to describe what Mr Ross is ?
douglas ross is not very nice
Why use a disgusting, derogatory term that is particularly offensive to women?
Meanwhile in the Glasgow Property and Development world.
The “Rangers” supporter who describe the Edmiston House development as being like a community centre and “utter shite” told me there was planning consent due for another long awaiting design proposal on the Albion car park.
It was first talked about 4 years ago.
Rangers own the Albion car park and it was required as part of the previous long ago needs for debenture holders for the construction of the club-deck.
Used now for match day parking it is a considerable parcel of land, so it is match day revenue. Remembering this and edminston house were used as collaterel against loans to directors now to keep the new company afloat.
In principal Rangers sell the land, take a profit as income, by selling off an asset, and have some operating cash in hand. That is how Rangers brilliant forensic accountants on line see it.
However,
coupled with two million more in confetti shares, what else is going on, why do they need it now (3-6 months time frame to do the legals i would think), is FFP really hitting them,
because, think about it, inspite of traunches of UEFA CL particpation monies, they havnt spent on any transfers.
So they are halfing parking income long term to do something today. Hhhmmmm.
As an aside the Merchant homes blurb says the oval design of the 4 story tenement blocks will pay homage to the iconic red-brick of the old lady of Edminston drive.
Who wants to live in an edwardian toilet block, i can smell the pish from here.

and as a ps.
will there be anybody still alive that attend the Albion greyhound track ?
SCULLYBHOY on 15TH FEBRUARY 2023 3:46 PM
if it fits for trump, i am sure Ross will wear it as a badge of honour,
Research shows that Scotland has the highest match attendance per capita in European football this season – and by some distance.
It was revealed matches across the top four divisions attracted 21.3 attendees per 1,000 people and a weekly average support of 117,700 fans. It is a figure significantly higher than the Netherlands, who are in second place with 12.9 attendees per 1,000 people.

And this weekend Celtic will pass the 1,000,000 attendees mark, only the 6th to do so this season, and the only club outside the big 5 leagues to enjoy a support of this size
Saint Stivs
I’m not a planner nor can I see into the future but I don’t think those flats will ever be built. Did you say that Rangers 2012 have sold this land or do they still own it or the sale is dependent on the planning permission being granted, or none of the aforementioned?
Not dismissing other guy’s opinions but i would be quite happy to Crowdfund any fine we get for the Douglas Ross banner, any excess give it to the GB Foodbank cause.

Whilst most of us would agree that there is no adequate word in the English language to describe Tories or indeed the weasel that is Ross, the GB showed themselves up yet again.
Interesting comparison of clubs rated by the value of their academy products. As you would perhaps expect, Benfica tops the bill, with French, Portuguese and S American clubs well represented. Outside these groups, we see that the rich clubs have the richest academies. I guess that filling the funnel with talented players for their sell-on value (many will never get the chance to play a game) is just another money-making scheme. https://www.football-observatory.com/IMG/sites/b5wp/2022/wp409/en/

Not sure how the SPFL or SFA could fine Celtic, there’s no strict liability in place for football clubs in Scotland, you cannot be held accountable for actions of supporters, UEFA competition rules are different
