Uefa target Milan on FFP, action on others in June

164

Cynics everywhere were probably stunned last night when the Investigatory Chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) referred AC Milan to the Adjudicatory Chamber for breach of Financial Fair Play regulations.  The Investigatory Chamber view is that Milan’s circumstances do not permit them to agree a financial settlement – they are pushing for a ban from Uefa competitions.

The Uefa statement concluded by saying the “Investigatory Chamber will further communicate in June its other decisions in relation to the monitoring of the clubs under investigation”.

Taking down big beasts like Milan is a huge political step for Uefa.  If I bought a Scottish club three years ago, with an unfulfilled commitment to have a Nominated Advisor in place “within 48 hours”, I would be worried my expected 180 minute European season could be in jeopardy.

Fortunately, Dave King has more to worry about that this.  The Europa League first qualification round is a long way off.

I have worn my lucky The Clash tee shirt to two Celtic matches. First time we Moussa Dembele demolished the hun tribute act. 5-1.

Wore it for the second time to a Celtic match a coupla weeks ago when we destroyed them 5-0.

    Joe,Mick,Paul and Topper 10 Sevco 1.

Will wear it everytime we play them now.

My favourite Green Brigade banner was Paul Simonen smashing his bass guitar.

Best ever Celtic banner was Scotland’s Shame with arrow pointing at Scotland’s Shame in our Lisbon Lions Stand. Genius that was.

The scotlands shame banner was as you say genius, so subtle, as for Lucy, you have good taste mi amigo, a while back when she was a tad younger Ulrika done it for me :-)

I equally liked the Hibernian banner against the vermin “Hun Scum.” Truthful and succinct.

We’re getting a new all singing all dancing floodlights revamp which is capable of putting on light shows a la Bayern, a new PA system, better WiFi and I read that work is being done on the stand roofs.

Apparently our floodlights don’t come up to UEFA standards because they’re more than 20 years old, which I found ridiculous till I started counting back with my fingers… bloody hell, time flies.

Girvan lost 2-3 v Beith tonight in Ayrshire cup after being in front twice , still to play them in Beith’s last league game which could see them win league if they beat Girvan and Talbot slip up at Cumnock

Thanks for that. Unlucky as Broth are a strong outfit.

It’s amazing that Auchinleck play Cumnock to win the league.

Cumbernauld beat Shettleston 3.0 in quarter final of Central league cup.

They will probably play Kirkintilloch in semis, who have been ground sharing at Cumbernauld, as their ground is being renovated.

  10. On the back of Phil’s article ( https://philmacgiollabhain.ie/2018/05/22/letter-from-america/ )

James Forrest has penned his own musings on the subject of Sevco ( https://thecelticblog.com/2018/05/blogs/is-sevco-about-to-become-a-non-functioning-business-its-already-a-basket-case-football-club/ )

The tone of each, and indeed Phil’s latest article, is very much that Sevco are heading towards the rocks. Yes, we’ve been hearing it for years and personally I take all of this with a pinch of incredulity.

The point of this post is that in the the discussions of findings, who owes who what, use of the season ticket money, a certain Brothers Loan company has gone missing from the equation. Did I miss them being repaid?

  11. I see the SFA must have giver Sevco the all clear for Europe as they have Killie in the draw for fridays Betfred cup

I previously mentioned the 23rd June as a potential date for the 2nd CQN Summer Afternoon Beer session, but unfortunately the date does not work, so we will need to move it to 30th June. Sorry for any hassle or inconvenience

    Totally off topic but…

I thought Dedryck was great in our last 3 or 4 games.

Pretty much rock solid, got back to doing the simple things well – finding a teammate in space, clearing out inside the box, sticking the ball out for a shy instead of fankling himself up trying to do the clever stuff.

    Long may it continue.

  19. For the pedants, I’m not sipping from the actual bottle; I am sipping it from a very nice whisky glass.

Just about to combine it with a Thistly Cross cider!
