Uncommon penalties and chaotic weeks of back-biting

782

Kris Commons looked like he had put a lot of practice into taking penalties yesterday.  The ball was firmly hit and found the corner of the net, a feat which is far from impossible but which has been beyond various Celtic players for the last few years.  We have little a little over a month before we could face a penalty kick competition against Juventus.  Penalty kick practice should be on the menu every day between now and then, for the entire squad.

I’m delighted Lukasz Zaluska has had an extended run in the team.  No player will be at his best if he is seldom tested and never in important games.  Lukasz carried his share of the blame for last weekend’s Hampden defeat but not every keeper can pull off a Nigel Spink.  Good to have Fraser back for Inverness.

If you read on a Celtic site that The Rangers chief executive and chairman are “at loggerheads” after “a chaotic week of back-biting” or that there is a prospect they will “frighten the life out of those institutional investors who ploughed £17million into the coffers little more than a month ago”, you would be forgiven for discounting the claim as a case of wishful thinking.

When it comes from the Daily Record and recent colleague of the club’s newly installed head of media you can be sure there is a little more to it than that.

You would think with all the positive feedback Green and Murray would have received form the SPL Commission they would be flush with joys.  I sincerely hope, for their sake, that Phil’s Bridge over Troubled Waters ditty was more wishful thinking than another leak from the media team.  That would be embarrassing.  “Squelch.”

  1. Ah, looks like the bad stuff’s all kicking off again for Sevco and their like.

A bit early to raise my glass, I raise my cup of tea to their inevitable downfall.

  2. Scientists believe that Richard died between 1455 and 1540 and was therefore unaware that his team took the lead just before the half time interval.

and worse than that….he was buried in a disabled space!

    ok, no more.

Burying people in multi-storey car parks is just wrong on so many levels

    LOL

  5. I doubt the BTC can effect Sevco now. They maybe have more pressing problems.

It will doubtless roll on for years and worry Murray and his minions. It will be interesting to see who will pay the legal representation to contest an appeal.

I doubt its really about Rangers (old) any more. The HMRC are just seeking to quash this particular type of EBT scam – pour encourager les autres.

  6. …actually I dont know if I can be bothered with the BTC again. It was the funniest thing EVER before.

I think I’ve moved on now.

  7. gillian i scream on

Bloody establishment teams, hours after they miss out on a potentially lucrative home replay in the cup in step their friends in high places to offer them a replay in the big tax case cup !

  8. Richard 111 said before he was killed that Challs Green lived on a different Plantagenet from anyone else if he thinks renaming Iborcs to Bosworth Field will endear him to the fans

  9. Big Tax case

Predict 1st deluded zombie on SSB tonight

Have Rangers not been punished enough ?

Why oh why are we wasting good tax payers money on this.

How is Ally with only the 2nd biggest budget in Scotland meant to do job with all these distractions.

We should all just move on ……

Well unless a boycott is involved

  10. Ally goes on to say whilst coffin thru the interview its dead this transfer market absolutely moriband. But now with Richard III on board we hope to bury the opposition with a procession of attacking play that should kill any team before there even out the box .

  11. Anyone else hoping that the BTC does in Chelsea et al?

Talking of whom, and also with regards the stupid orcs ‘weekender’ tournament invite to Chelsea, can anyone recall why Chelsea were on der Orkenkind’s creditors list to the tune of nearly £250k?

hint: share of gate receipts from der Orkenkind’s last ‘weekender’

  12. Neveralone

i have been boring everyone i know with the same thought. Henke missed quite a few but always stepped back up. First and foremost the taker should volunteer and I can’t believe Charlie was first with his hand up given his body langauge last week.

Delighted with a very professional performance yesterday. Focussed from the start on an awful pitch. Even last Wednesday I thought we were often careless in possession and had not learned from Hampden but yesterday we were back in line. Could never be brilliant on that pitch but more than comfortable throughout.

  13. Now why didn’t Fat Sally and Sir Minty do this. I might have been a bit more forgiving last year…

A Japanese pop star has shaved her head and offered a filmed apology after breaking her management firm’s rules by spending a night with her boyfriend.

A sobbing Minami Minegishi apologised to her fans and said she did not want to leave the band AKB48, in the video seen by millions on YouTube.

The production company behind AKB48 said Minegishi, 20, had failed to abide by its cardinal rule – no dating.

But fans have defended her, saying she is entitled to a normal life.

Head shaving is a traditional form of showing contrition in Japan.

    ‘Disgusting’

Minegishi’s apology came hours after a tabloid newspaper published photographs of her leaving the apartment of her boyfriend, Alan Shirahama, a dancer in a boy band.

Minami Minegishi is one of the original members of the hugely popular girl band, AKB48 In the video posted on AKB48’s official website, she said she had made the decision to shave off her long hair to show contrition for her “thoughtless and immature” actions.

“I don’t believe just doing this means I can be forgiven for what I did, but the first thing I thought was that I don’t want to quit AKB48,” she said.

At times sobbing and bowing her head during the nearly four-minute-long video, she also said: “If it is possible, I wish from the bottom of my heart to stay in the band. Everything I did is entirely my fault. I am so sorry.”

  14. I thought Lukasz Zaluska looked much more composed yesterday,it can’t be easy deputising for a keeper like Fraser who is in such great form

  15. Now if LNS would get his finger out and release his deliberation, today could go down as one of the finest mondays ever.

There are other relevant questions to ask Charlie, but that will do for starters.

Have the SFA commented on black’s two ‘inflammatory / disgusting actions to the Utd fans on Saturday ? ……… Surely they are not going to get away with this latest despicable behaviour…

It’s blow after blow for huns, new and old, isn’t it?

I could get quite used to this new world order.
