No matter how much work he did with Arsenal, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will need minutes in a competitive game before he looks anywhere near his best. That needs to start as soon as possible. Celtic should aim to secure the win first, but hopefully we will see Alex against Livingston tomorrow night.
A glance at the fixture list confirms we are at the business end of the season. Before the month is out we are at Kilmarnock (you might still have PTSD from our last visit there), Hibernian and we’ve Stuttgart home and away. Alex is ineligible against the Germans but Martin O’Neill will require the entire squad ready for Kilmarnock and Hibs.
I’m trying to supress feelings about the refereeing at our last two games. You get the feeling we are in for it between now and the end of the season. All of our unfortunate coincidences will happen all at once.

hello
Awright
Aye
full broomloan like we used get.
plus the corner that we currently get.
that shouldnt be far off the mark
Cheating you mean
You may be trying to supress feelings about the refereeing at our last two games but the club should not be. My fear is that with Peter Lawell gone there isn’t anyone within the club with the stature and the balls to get something done about it.
In reality, given the somewhat unconvincing way we are grinding oot these gritty wins, even Alex’s ring rusty offerings and innate composure might still be better than some of the skittish showings we’ve been getting from our mids.
I rewatched the jam farts game again tonite; the paucity of quality in how we failed to link up and pass to one of our own was very worrying.
No time for sentiment MON; just plsy those with the appetite for the onfield fight and officiating sleekitry.

They’ve fired a couple of warning shots across the bow, but you’ll know it’s about to get serious when Shortie wheel out Boabby Madden.
The Dundee midfielder, Hamilton, is one worth tracking for the summer. He along with the Motherwell winger would improve the first team.
The unfortunate coincidence surely is that the officials cheat us by clear inconsistency of treatment relative to other clubs while at the same time our club say nothing about it (maybe there is some behind the scenes stuff but it makes no difference).
Research it properly, catalogue it, seek expert opinion on how we are treated and present the facts publicly to the SFA. It is now so blatant we need to let these officials know we are watching and will press for their removal with clear evidence of incompetence (ahem, we know it’s not only incompetence, btw).
On referee’s club needs to target Beaton’s misdemeanours.
Dickinson and co will soon fold.
One team’s unfortunate ‘coincidences’ is another team’s stroke of ‘luck’ .
T’was ever thus in sometimes not so bonny Scotia .
Paul67 et al
Problem for you Paul, or one of them at any rate, is that, all evidence to the contrary elsewhere, you welcomed the back o’ the van VAR when it was introduced back whenever it was. Some of us thought, rightly, that there were two problems bringing it into the SPL or Scottish football generally, namely, VAR would be manned by the same masonic cabal that is the top level of the Scottish Referees Association, and, two it would give these selfsame officials the chance to re-referee the game to suit their pre-ordained, if you like, agenda. Now if Celtic, as we have been on many occasions since VAR was brought in, were a street ahead of all of our rivals this built in bias would not be able to effect a material influence over the whole season, but when we have a close run SPL race as we do now, the evidence suggests they will take every opportunity to do so, and they will not care who is watching. And that is no coincidence.

Your mistake is to call it a Celtic site. Like a few clickbait sites that seek to generate either sensation (like the one you cite) or hysteria and negativity like a few others, they would damage the club if anyone took them seriously. They are not Celtic sites, they are parasites, using the club’s name and a fanbase desperate for news, all to make a few quid.
*Absolutely and some so called Celtic supporters sites tae plus we have on our own alleged supports who I got mocked for calling hunterlopers and 5th Columnists, interesting to note the dearth of them right now and at other times when we are looking good, a timmy or 1888 moniker does NOT make them the genuine article.
Wee Willie is incapable of holding back the tide of orangeism we’re now witnessing from the MIBs.

Still waiting on the Club telling the BBC where to go after the interview at the weekend where they equated Celtic with Epstein.
Deniabhoy,
I have been hearing this regularly recently, and have no idea where it came from.Maybe you can enlighten me.Just when did PL do anything about the cheating of our club by Referees?
Maybe it did happen, and I was in a Coma for 20 years.Thats the only way I could have missed something so important.
A couple of weeks ago,I did notice Burnley, sleekitly get it in on a post, and since then a few have carried it on.
Not a slight on PL,just a search for facts.Someone give me an example.
Tontine Tim,
If my memory serves me,were you not asked to name these” Hunterlopers, and 5th Columnists” that you mention regularly.Never saw your replies.
Celtic and Rangers were both interested in signing Damir Redzic, but the 22-year-old Hungary striker opted for Red Bull Salzburg despite Celtic making a higher offer, Dunajska Streda sports director Jan Van Daele has revealed. (The Herald)

There’s a saying in the trade.
The best way to predict the future ….
… is to create it.
Over to you Celtic Executive Leadership.
This isn’t a complex strategic problem presented skillfully by a genius competitor.
First step in dealing with people who are secure and comfortable doing what they are doing to you?
Make them INsecure and UNcomfortable doing what they are doing to you.
Oh, and by the way …
John Beaton loves Rangers

Lucky Cody,
At the moment Dickinson is the new DOB in town.Beaton trying to get his autograph.
“John Beaton loves Rangers”
And easily published without fear or favour.
TurkeyBhoy – I thought in recent years, by and large, the refereeing was not as biased as it used to be. Rightly or wrongly, my perception was that this coincided with us being top dog and that Lawell had the biggest influence of any Club rep within the corridors of power. The Huns were in such a state of disarray that, for once, the SPFL and SFA didn’t have to bend over backwards every time they stamped their feet. That with the demise of RFC and the removal of Daddy Dallas (thanks to our Board) things had become better. VAR improved things further with the Huns penalty count taking a downturn and “honest mistakes” becoming less frequent. Still plenty of incompetence on display but things were better.
That was my perception until recent weeks.
Now the honest mistakes are back with a vengeance and VAR is doing nothing to combat it. We are in complete disarray while r2ngers have shown that their protests against refs is once again a potent weapon.
During this same time PL left and, I think with it, the one voice we had that carried some weight.
All my perception, of course, and it may only be that.
The Officiating, these past two games in particular, has been an absolute disgrace.
Brazenly riding roughshod over the rule book whilst throwing huns Douglas Ross and John Beaton into the mix, is just taking the piss.
You’ll note the SFA aren’t taking any chances with der Hun at Fir Park tomorrow night: Ref Steven McLean and John Beaton on VAR.

So what happens if 4 of the main board members resign ….. Takeyurpick !!
DD stays on as main shareholder
We get a new board in and things don’t go too well .
SACK THE NEW BOARD , SACK THE NEW BOARD , SACK THE NEW BOARD !!
I would hope our CEO is holding people to account at the SFA, but then again, he’s probably more likely to shrug…
Hopefully Alex’s match sharpness doesnt come from running away from assorted cloggers trying to make a name for themselves by crocking him
Theres an interesting story in France at the moment about Endrick who’s tearing up Ligue Un while hes in loan at Lyon from Real Madrid. He got two yellows at the weekend but the real story was his manager Fonseca, complaining about how much he’s getting kicked at the moment. Surprisingly the French media have reported it very sympathetically, theres a feeling among sports journos that special talents like Endrick won’t come to Ligue Un if that’s the treatment they get.
Thankfully we have Martin whos seen it all before but at a time when Scottish football struggles to attract decent players at any stage of their career it would be nice to think someone somewhere might reflect in it.
Talking of struggling to attract players to Scotland there are some interesting comments from the Dunajska Streda owner about a striker we tried to sign in January:
Van Daele said: “The starting point was that we did not want to sell Damir and we told this to the player.
“The first interested party was FC Copenhagen in mid-January, but their their offer was so low that it was practically impossible to take it seriously.
“Then his agents appeared, tried to put pressure on us, but we still insisted that the amount was not enough. After that, Red Bull Salzburg arrived and that’s when things really got serious.
“His agents started talking about all sorts of things, for example, stopping training, but fortunately, Damir behaved extremely professionally, said no to the boycott of training and worked as he should have throughout. I can’t say a single bad word about him. He is a fantastic person and a professional player.
“I am especially grateful to him for the way he handled this whole situation, because it was a huge pressure for him too.
“After Red Bull entered the picture, suddenly other clubs appeared – Celtic and Rangers were also both interested.
“In fact, Celtic’s offer was higher than Salzburg’s, but the player was fully focused on Red Bull.
“Damir had very clear career goals – he said he wanted to go to Salzburg and from there move on to a top club.
“As a specific example, he had Dominik Szoboszlai’s career in mind because he was at Red Bull Salzburg.”
Check how it’s being reported,as if we have a cheek to get a 20% allocation
Fairly quiet today.
Is this the pre-storm quiescence?
I was reflecting after rewatching the fabulous tribute and presentation clip about John Fallon from over in Philadelphia.
Huge respect to BT for being able to respond. I doubt I could have done that in similar situation.
I realised John was the goalkeeper at my first ever Celtic game v Dunfermline January 4 1969. To that 8 year old his red hair stood out so vividly against the green grass and I apparently asked my dad if he was Jinky (who was not in starting 11 that day). They warmed up at the rangers end where we (me and my cousins and dad ) were gathered near the front.
He was our goalie in my first European game v Benfica later that year too. Although it was Tommy Gemmell who was the hero that day.
He was the goalie at my first Glasgow Derby also. A 1-0 win In 1969. Although I almost feel I saw him in the 4-0 Cup Final but I wasn’t at it apparently. I have just watched it over and over again and my dad told me I was confused because we took all my friends to see it at the cinema for a birthday treat 6 months later.
I think I saw his last game for Celtic which was a 0-1 defeat to Aberdeen when Robb scored the winner.
My dad had followed John’s Celtic career and was always positive about him, perhaps could relate to his background. He reckoned big Jock gave John a hard time.
Not long before my dad got dementia we watched the 1969/70 European games together. Dad said he wished Bertie Auld and John Fallon had played that night. He felt we would have won and that John would have come and punched the ball at the initial goal. He also didn’t think he would have got caught with the second as he would have been more authoritative in connecting with big Billy.
As I say just musings and memories of a time I certainly don’t have full memory of but to meet and speak to someone as humble as John who had done so much was always a great privilege…..whether at Dingwall Dundee Dublin or Celtic Park.
I am sure he will be up there, with my dad and many others, willing us on to a famous victory this next few months.
Re the European Cup Final in 1970
I don’t think I agreed with my dad btw. Perhaps seeing John coming out for the first one and punching the initial ball possibly. The second was really a tough one. I doubt any goalie could have done much.

Tontine Tim,
If my memory serves me, were you not asked to name these” Hunterlopers, and 5th Columnists” that you mention regularly. Never saw your replies.
*aye I was, and my response was they were so easy tae spot, why would I post names, what age do you think I am, 8, like used tae happen in primary school, we called that cliping then.
The one good aspect of the sites on FB is that anyone who posts has a profile and although some of them disguise who they are, for the most part its so easy as one yesterday who was laughing at us buying the Ox claiming he would last about 5 minutes among the hammer throwers in the SPL, had one of his favourites as a church in ballymoney, in the 2021 census almost 70% claimed a british identity, enough said there, I have a DNA that leads too Antrim so I’m well versed on that town, not as bad as its neighbour ballymena but getting there.
Unfortunately on CQN we don’t have that luxury so have to watch our club and support getting belittled on a regular basis, if your really that curious well just notice that I rarely if ever comment on their illiterate postings
