NO-ONE should have been unduly surprised when Liel Abada popped in the final goal deep in stoppage-time in Celtic’s dramatic 4-2 win over Dundee United at Parkhead yesterday.
The little Israeli international winger makes a habit of scoring against the Tannadice men in the east end of Glasgow.
Abada netted the Hoops’ goal in the 1-1 draw with the Tayside outfit in September last year and it was the £3.5million buy from Maccabi Petah Tikva who grabbed the last-gasp winner in the January encounter against the same opponents.
In fact, United defenders must be the sick of the sight of the darting raider – he also thumped in a glorious second-half hat-trick as Ange Postecoglou’s men ran amok in the 9-0 romp at Tannadice in August.
They must have sighed with reflief when they saw he was not in the starting line-up yesterday. They must have groaned when he made a 64th-minute substitute appearance for Sead Haksabanovic who had already fired two into their net in the first-half.
Abada’s goal and the champion’s thrilling 4-2 success over Liam Fox’s side are certainly worth another look thanks to the lads at Celtic TV Unique Angle. Enjoy!
