UNIQUE ANGLE: AS EASY AS ONE, TWO, THREE

BANANA skin? What banana skin?

Celtic have finally blitzed the theory they cannot perform on the threadbare plastic pitch at Livingston with a comprehensive 3-0 victory in West Lothian yesterday.

Kyogo Furuhashi got the show on the road early on with a whiplash left-foot drive that zipped between the stunned Jack Hamilton and his near post.

The keeper was left befuddled again when Greg Taylor put the laces through a rebound from an Aaron Mooy shot and Filipe Jota, only on the pitch for eight minutes, nudged in the third following an astute pass from David Turnbull.

DENIED…Sead Haksabanovic is foiled by Jack Hamilton as Kyogo Furuhashi and Nicky Devlin look on.

THWARTED…James Forrest has the ball taken off his toe by the overworked Jack Hamilton.

Joe Hart, virtually a spectator throughout a one-sided 90-plus minutes, deserves great credit for a clever throw to Liel Abada who took a quick glance before sending the ball into the path of Turnbull. Jota didn’t hang about as he thumped in his sixth goal of the campaign after missing the previous five games with a hamstring problem.

Giorgos Giakoumakis missed joining the goal parade when he fluffed a penalty-kick that didn’t even hit the target. He also squandered an award against the same opponents in Glasgow a year ago. Maybe spot-kicks aren’t the big Greek’s forte.

The success over Livi is certainly worth another look thanks to the lads at Celtic TV Unique Angle. Enjoy!
