Never saw Toljian yellow and red as lost feed between work and train. Bonner on BBC said he never meant it

Yellows were soft , but Toljan ball watching at the second one and let his man get goalside . Pity as we were looking in control but that has really rattled us .

Doing so well up until the sending off. Hayes won’t get forward so much now, unfortunately. Important to stay in the tie as long as possible and we have done that.
Ball retention and pressing much better than last week. Bit worried about Parejo getting too much space at times. Need to get tighter on him.
One or two sloppy passes but we have forced them into some mistakes too.
Causing them problems when we break with pace, but the longer the game goes on they will retreat their midfield and we might lose this advantage, so would be good if we could score one before this happens.
We’ve now got the 10 man advantage – 2nd yellow was incredibly soft…was all us up till that point. 2 brilliant saves from Bain keeping us in it.
Crap yellow cards for Toljan. Either the referee realises his error and ‘evens’ it up for second half or he won’t be refereeing in the next round.

Up to the sending off we were arguably the better team, created a number of half chances and just needed one lucky break and it would have been game on.
Since the red card they have smelt blood and are a different team.
It’s damage limitation now and a hard slog for 10 men with a big game coming up on Sunday.

Good first half display. Slack passing at times gave them an in but we had the best of the play. Over zealous refereeing imo. Two harsh yellows sends Toljan for a bath.
Disappointed not to see Edouard start.
Hayes has looked comfortable and dangerous in attack, happy for him.
Bain was impressive when called upon as the first half ended.
Valencia are a good side but very beatable , will be tough now with ten men
Unlucky for us we get the German Collum, just seen that second booking, soft doesn’t come close.
We were well positioned in the half until the sending off.
Only criticism I could find is that we are continually naive when playing on the continent. For example, watch how the Valencia player holds the ball till he sees Broony is attempting to win the ball, he then releases the ball just before the slide, which makes the tackle a clear yellow card. Completely out smarted.
