ANY deal for on-loan Barcelona left-back Alex Valle to quit Celtic will be put on hold until the end of the month.
Serie A outfit Como have made a surprise move for the 20-year-old defender who may see his temporary transfer to Parkhead cut short.
The Catalan giants are open to allowing Valle to move to Italy – but only if the Hoops agree to terminate the contract ahead of its June schedule, according to a report in Sky Sports.
It is highly unlikely Brendan Rodgers will give the green light to any proposed switch while the team have two remaining Champions League qualifiers to fulfil as they attempt to seal a place in the lucrative play-offs.
ON THE BALL…Alex Valle in action in the goalless draw with Atalanta in October.
Celtic are due to play Switzerland’s Young Boys at Parkhead on Wednesday and Aston Villa in the Midlands a week later.
Valle, who has made 18 appearances for Scotland’s title kings since his summer arrival, is in Rodgers’ registered squad for Europe’s elite competition and the Spanish Under-20 international is the only cover for Greg Taylor.
The news of the possible departure of the youngster has again fuelled reports that Keiran Tierney is being lined up for an emotional return to the club with his Arsenal contract due to expire at the end of the season.
However, the 27-year-old former fans’ favourite cannot be registered for Europe until the next stage of the tournament.
That is likely to stall any exit for Valle for the time being.
The winter transfer window is due to close on Monday February 3.
