Value of Ledley’s back post goals

764

Celtic didn’t hit the heights of last week’s win at Tynecastle against Inverness last night but it was a remarkably controlled win nonetheless.  The game could have been over as a contest in the opening minutes but as the lead didn’t extend beyond a single goal the contest retained an edge.

Daniel Majstorovic was incorrectly penalised when he correctly challenged for the ball 25 yards from goal but the Swede’s lax initial response to the forward ball created the situation that resulted in his red card.  Dan had a painful game against Inverness last season but after they were reduced to 10 men Celtic were far too composed to let Inverness’ numerical advantage count.

We’ve spoken about the value of goals from midfield in recent seasons.  Kris Commons lit up Celtic’s season when he arrived in a flurry of goals last year but Joe Ledley’s efforts from the back post this season could prove to be even more important.

Never seen your ‘joke’ but I did see you say sorry. That should be good enough – an error of judgement. Apology made – THE END.

Have a laugh…..an extract from the Vanguard Bears meeting with MR Whyte as the deferentially call him just now.

Love the bit about….this will not be tolerated and addressed in due course. Hmmmmm

    Aye, freedom of speech, eh

    ——————————

Internet Bloggers – This issue was also raised and the club are now in possession of information collated by Vanguard Bears which appears to show links between influential parties working in collusion to inflict harm on the name of Rangers FC. This will not be tolerated and will be addressed in due course. It was also mentioned that the support have a role to play in reporting anything they see which deliberately seeks to harm Rangers FC or the fans unnecessarily.

Apologies if I’ve got the wrong guy, but isnt’ Barcabhoy (the source of the rumour) a persistant critic of the board and in particular Peter Lawell? If I’m correct then the rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Regular reader but new to posting.

Having read the SCVO article and read a bit more about them I was disappointed though not surprised to see that one of the clown Downie’s two fellow bloggers is someone called Alison Elliot who as well as being convenor of SCVO she is also a former Moderator of the Church of Scotland. Not only is hard to believe that someone who apparently is experienced in pubic affairs sees fit to, and is allowed to, voice personal opinions on his employers website, but if beggars belief that he and his employes are comfortable calling for the end of catholic schools when the head of their board also used to be head of the Church of Scotland. I also read in Scotland on Sunday that two thirds of SNP members think catholic schools should be abolished. As someone who used to be proud to be Scottish and who did not attend a catholic school I’m saddened and shocked that such attitudes are accepted without question, it really makes you realise what a petty and insignificant nation the Scots can be.

Thanks for posting the link from yesterdays game.

Bid Dan looked even slower there, than in real time at the game.

One aspect of yesterdays game that drove me nuts were our corner kicks. Firstly I acknowledge we have started scoring from them again but..

…Why when we overhit the corners, which is often due to the way CM pings them across the 6 yard box, do we have no one wide ?

If we had someone, lets say JF,lurking at the corner of the 18yard line, then rather than retrieve the ball(sometimes) before it goes out for a shy

we are missing the chance to shoot or put the ball back across the6 yard line at pace while the opposing defence are turning & not organised.

Not unhappy with the team just that sometimes its the attention to the small detail that can make a difference.HH

Didn’t see your joke but I did notice your reference to Frankie Boyle.

I used to like the cutting edge that was Frankie Boyle on TV; far enough to challenge but no further.

Made the mistake of going to see the bloke live.

    What a mistake.

Frankie Boyle thinks taking the piss out of people with a learning disability is somehow funny.
