Celtic didn’t hit the heights of last week’s win at Tynecastle against Inverness last night but it was a remarkably controlled win nonetheless. The game could have been over as a contest in the opening minutes but as the lead didn’t extend beyond a single goal the contest retained an edge.
Daniel Majstorovic was incorrectly penalised when he correctly challenged for the ball 25 yards from goal but the Swede’s lax initial response to the forward ball created the situation that resulted in his red card. Dan had a painful game against Inverness last season but after they were reduced to 10 men Celtic were far too composed to let Inverness’ numerical advantage count.
We’ve spoken about the value of goals from midfield in recent seasons. Kris Commons lit up Celtic’s season when he arrived in a flurry of goals last year but Joe Ledley’s efforts from the back post this season could prove to be even more important.

BMCUW – here you, I hope you’re not planning a Holy Cleric speech later in the season?! :-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not me,mate. I don’t make speeches. Anything longer than a monosyllabic grunt is beyond me.
Unless I’ve had a few beers,in which case somebody stop me…..
Unless those few beers are Perroni,of course. Poof juice,as I said on the last thread.
The stuff isn’t sold in Kilwinning for that reason,or possibly for another reason.
Good afternoon CQN
Ere…..you slaggin ma beer mate?
Of course,if we had Darren O’Dea about the place,he could have been covering the left-back slot…Joe could have been available for his most effective midfield role..and Charlie would be the regular centre-half.
Lafferty & Co. would have been nursing a few more bruises..
We would have carried a greater threat at corners..
We would not have to be paying a wage to Blackman for whatever…
Loovens could give his full attention to looking pretty about the place..
And we just might still be in the Europa Cup…..
Neil Lennon’s Most Significant Blunder In Management…
Fraser Forster would be my poty if the voting was today.
He has been immense.
Wait 30 minutes on the phone to India to get told it should be ok in 48 hours.
northshorebhoy,
There is already an Asda about five minutes from Ibrox, so it has little potential as a supermarket!
VOGUE PUNTER
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would recommend the same number of points penalty that they have won illegally these last 10 years at least. Whats that? about 800??
over 10 years 80 pts a season. 20 40 pts a season. 30 say 25 pts a season or a 100 years at 8 points a season.
Seems fair to me.
Have a laugh…..an extract from the Vanguard Bears meeting with MR Whyte as the deferentially call him just now.
Love the bit about….this will not be tolerated and addressed in due course. Hmmmmm
Aye, freedom of speech, eh
——————————
Internet Bloggers – This issue was also raised and the club are now in possession of information collated by Vanguard Bears which appears to show links between influential parties working in collusion to inflict harm on the name of Rangers FC. This will not be tolerated and will be addressed in due course. It was also mentioned that the support have a role to play in reporting anything they see which deliberately seeks to harm Rangers FC or the fans unnecessarily.

I regret reading your post. You have OWCoSNS (Oppressive West Coast of Scotland Negativity Syndrome).
Kidding…. but naw seriously.
An ideology is a world view that people believe despite the lack of evidence for it.
Some people refuse to believe facts presented to them if those facts undermine their belief system.
I was surprised at the number of high balls we played in the first half yesterday. Thought it was because we were outnumbered in central midfield.
The centre half spent the whole game pushing Samaras with the linesman and referee watching.
5 – 1 home defeat for Big Mick and Wolves against WBA.
Looks like any three from five to be relegated with QPR, Blackburn and Wolves all on 21 points, Bolton on 20 and Wigan on 19.
My poty is sunny allooky.

Darren never really recovered from being played at right-back against the huns.
Even the winning goal against the huns in the LC final wasn’t enough to overcome that.
To this day,I stil do not know what Gordon-I’m such a good coach that I can fit square pegs into round holes-Strachan was thinking of

which dublin pub ?

I was gonny say somethin about a brown nose, but changed my mind.
But I’ll still shake his hand next time i see him.
Paul67 –
Another big step for the team yesterday. It’s still just four points but nothing will eradicate what remaining spirit Rangers have than Celtic continuing to win matches.
BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS
Signing Pressley at the time O’Dea was breaking through was crazy. He was ineligible for Europe and stopped O’Dea’s development as his game time was reduced.
Young players need games.
POTY nominations in February before we’ve won anything, ever so slightly premature
I think if we checked with the man himself,he would confirm that Santa never brought him a Leggo Set,back in the day….
See how folk turn out in later life..

It beats the hell out of talking about Liverpool / Man utd or horses :-)
Oglach..
……or what might happen to the huns.
Yeah what might happen to the Huns, wish it would hurry up and happen, the suspense is being stretched to breaking point, I’d settle now for them getting relegated to Div 3 from next season, that would be brilliant.
The Moon Bhoys
As long as we finish above them in the league, I will be delighted.
How about the song or poppy “debate”?

Our Darren was unreliable as a centre back and as a left back. He has continued his downward spiral since he left us, regardless of how many times he plays for the ROI team. He will find his level and be happy there, but IMHO it wasn’t with us.
Really nice guy, but he had more than enough chances to claim a place and didn’t do it.
If you listen to the top spotters of young talent, they will always talk about fitness, engine, attitude, skill and then qualify it all by saying consistently performing at the required level is the clincher. That last quality was an issue with Darren.

Ah the ol ‘last train’ excuse, a likely story. Ya lightweight ;)
Agree with your article Paul.
Super Joe in midfield, have we found our replacement
for Stan Petrov.
