VAN DIJK – EVERTON RUMOURS

VIRGIL VAN DIJK has today been linked to a summer move to Goodison Park according to a reports in the English press who also re-state the rumors that other clubs such as Arsenal and Sunderland are keen on the 23 year old Celtic central defender.

Van Dijk, who has scored 10 goals for Celtic this season, joined the club from Gronigen in 2013 for around £2.6m and would attract a transfer fee around the level Celtic achieved in recent close seasons for the likes of Fraser Forster and Victor Wanyama.

Indeed with the increases in TV incomes south of the border coming into effect, the  sum that Celtic could achieve could reach a record level although Celtic manager Ronny Deila is keen for the Dutchman to stay on and experience the Champions League at Celtic next season.

Everton may well be in need of reinforcements in their central defence as both Antolin Alcaraz and Sylvain Distin face uncertain futures at Goodison Park.

Jason Denayer is another current Celtic player who looks like playing his football next season south of the border. Celtic are keen to extend his loan deal for another season but reports yesterday suggested that his club Manchester City would prefer the impressive Belgian teenager continues his development in the English Championship.
