Absolutely delighted at the arrival of Dutch under-21 international central defender, Virgil van Dijk, on a four year deal. A central defender was one of three priorities for this summer and we have secured our first choice target.
The signing will also give a boost to the squad, and a timely reminder to all that amidst talk of player potentially leaving ‘at the right price’, the Celtic Story is one of progress.
Celtic had the tallest team in the Champions League last season. They were also top scorers from headed goals in the competition until Bayern Munich caught them in the semi-finals. With the addition of two 6’4” players (van Dijk and Balde) we look to be consolidating our strengths.

We the undersigned have concerns that should be addressed by our board, being the legal representatives responsible to protect our interests.
Recent information made public has raised concerns about the integrity of governance in the market we operate, specifically on the qualification and issuance of license to practice.
Serious questions have been raised on the administration of the rules fundamental to the integrity of the sports governance.
We would appreciate responses to the following questions
1. Have our representatives/board raised any concerns with the SFA on the information recently made public (if not why not), what was the response ?
2. Are our representatives/board satisfied with said response ? (why)
3. Are our representatives/board aware of any irregularities ? if so what steps have you been taken to protect/recover the interests of the minority shareholders?
4. What is the boards strategy to recover earnings lost through any governance irregularities which may come to light at a later stage?
5. If there is no strategy to recover lost earnings from the offenders, will those responsible for this decision be compensating the minority shareholders from their own holdings, if not why not ?
6. If the decision makers are considering such compensation how would this be calculated

I tried to buy a Ghettoblaster from Comet in Partick . They had a number of Ghettoblasters in stock and I had the necessary cash . Should have been easy to do business but the salesperson knew zilch and didn’t seem to care if a sale was made or not .
I went elsewhere. . I still have that Ghettoblaster but Comet are no more . There is a lesson in there.

Agreed. I also remember that year that Inter played Real in the QF. Some critics argued that we had a lucky passage to the final although Jock Stein always maintained that Vojvodina was a terrific side. But our luck soon changed. As reigning champions the following year, we were drawn against Dynamo Kiev, only being included in the draw because the Albanian champions withdrew at the last minute. That put a dampner on our whole season.

I think its important to qaulify the information that is gewekt available.
The plc will dismiss anything that has not been verified on the internet or is under police investigation or is a criminal matter.
I would not make it that easy for them to duck out of it.
How satisfied are the plc with the governance of matters related to the issuing of licenses. Domestic and European by the SFA ?
If not satisfied, apart from expressing mild surprise about it what are we doing about it and why are these actions not being communicated ?

effectively that was the same as A Stor’s post, my worry there, is that they simply come away with something along the lines of ‘we are not party to the machinations of the licensing department and can only accept they undertake their duties with the same diligence shown in their treatment of our own applications’

I have not actually accused the sfa of anything I’m simply asking the board to respond by informing us how seriously take the matter and the implications if the accusations turn out to be true., just as any worried parent would :o)
