VIRGIL VAN DIJK is staying at Celtic – until the end of the season, at least.
The £10million-rated Dutch central defender has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool among others, but the Hoops are insisting he remains at the club at the moment.
Van Dijk admitted: “Celtic will not co-operate with a departure in this transfer period.
“It would boost my career if I could step up, but I have no problem to stay a bit longer.”
Ronny Deila said: “For me, Virgil is developing now and taking steps all the time which is very important.
“Of course, I am so happy to have him.
“He is enjoying his football and playing well. That’s positive. And he is such an important player for us.
“He’s worth a lot of money, but I am very calm.
“In my opinion, he is a very good player now, but he can be a worldclass player.”
