VAN HOOIJDONK PLAYS DOWN CIFTCI LINK

NADIR CIFTCI’S agent Pierre van Hooijdonk has played down links with his client and former club Celtic.
The Dutchman, signed by Tommy Burns for the Hoops in the mid-nineties, admitted: “There is nothing that I know.

“If the right club isn’t there for him, we would take it to another season at United. He’s very happy with the way he is being treated at the club.”

Van Hooijdonk added: “I can imagine that they are looking at him, but I have had no calls from Celtic. It is all speculation at the moment.

“I have no doubts that he could play at a higher level, but there is no need to speculate about other options.

“I’m sure they will be there in the future, but the move has to be right.”

Turkish frontman Ciftci, who joined United from NAC Breda in 2013, has one year remaining on his Tannadice contract.
If the Celtic interest is genuine Big Pierre can always try the ‘Leetle Problem’ routine, or say that Ciftci’s on Big Issue seller wages at Tannadice.
