VETERAN DE VRIES ‘EXCITED’ ABOUT HOOPS FUTURE

1

DORUS DE VRIES admitted he is excited about “what the future holds” after signing a new deal at Celtic.

The 36-year-old Dutchman has agreed a contract extension to keep him at the champions until the summer of 2019.

De Vries has only started five league matches for Brendan Rodgers’ side since quitting Nottingham Forest in a £300,000 move in August last year.

He said: “As a player, you want to be at the best clubs and Celtic is certainly up there.

“It’s a great squad to play in, great technical staff who are enjoyable to work with, as well, and, for me, everything is here to keep on going and make sure that we keep bringing trophies to this club.

“It was a joy to work with the gaffer at Swansea City before and ever since I joined Celtic, it’s been brilliant.

“It’s great to be involved in a club like Celtic, especially with the success we had last season and we’re trying to build on that this year.

“It’s great to be part of that and I’m looking forward to what the future holds.”
