Still 21-years-old, Liel Abada is the same age Jota was when Benfica sent him out on a season long loan to Valladolid. The insanely valuable talents of Jota were not evident at his mother club and remained hidden for his duration in Spain.
Kyogo was 23 before he played top-flight football in Japan, also as a winger. His prodigious talents took years longer to mature into the goal scorer he is today. This is what successful player development often looks like and it is why Brendan Rodgers persuaded Liel Abada to get his head down for another season at Celtic.
Like Kyogo, Liel has an innate understanding of space and timing in front of goal. He is also a big game player, having scored three times against Newco in his two seasons here, only Dundee United have conceded more to him, including a memorable last-minute winner with 10-men, and, of course, a Scottish Cup Final goal.
He has played through the middle on a couple of occasion without success but I think he has what it takes to make it as a striker, all he needs is time to learn the position and good coaching.
Joining him for competition on the wing will be Korean Hyunjun Yang, also 21, whose signing from Gangwon was confirmed this morning. Hyunjun leaves a team who were fighting relegation all season, which is quite a different prospect from what he will experience at Celtic.
The developmental opportunities for wing players at Celtic have been one of the highlights at the club in recent years. As we discussed last week, wingers are changed during a game more often than any other position, we need volume and variety in the squad.
Welcome to Celtic, Hyunjun.

Thought Trevor Francis was a great player with Birmingham and Forest and came across as a decent guy when I heard him interviewed.
Just a shame he made a poor choice of club at the end of his career.
Sad to hear of his untimely death.
When are we announcing Bang Wan In?
RIP Trevor
I am another who cant remember his time at the huns
Trevor Francis played for der hun over a 6 month period, most famously in the McAvennie v. Woods & Butcher & Roberts stramash game at Ibrox.
Far too young. RIP.
HH
Trevor infamously never scored a goal for the original rangers.
I dont think he played that much either, one season only.
RIP Trevor Francis
From yon wiki …
Francis returned to Britain in September 1987 to join Rangers under Graeme Souness, as part of his self-styled “English invasion” at Ibrox. Francis cost just £75,000 and won the 1987–88 Scottish League Cup, scoring a penalty in the shootout.
Good evening all from the Brazen Head.
R.I.P Trevor Francis was a great player
🇦🇹 | Celtic ➡️ Admira Wacker
Tobi Oluwayemi & Matthew Anderson are set to join Austrian side Admira Wacker on a season long loan deal.
The pair are in Austria to complete the first deal between the clubs since they announced the partnership earlier this year.
Interesting & Welcomed

!!BADA BING!!
Even if the sheep don’t need the money, there will be a downturn in income for local businesses.
Fek them.

My friends in Celtic,
What is the average away support at Parkhead. For most teams not many.
We are in control of pur own destiny at Paradise. Cut the allocations to a number that teams can fill and accommodate our own supporters.
We have a waiting list , so let’s look after our own support who deserve a chance of witnessing our journey first hand..
Apart from the huns of course, give them ziltch, zero, nothing. We don’t need them and we certainly don’t want them.
HH.

Hear hear.
Let the sheep Drown in their own stupidly.
Good luck to Tobi and Matthew at Admira Wacker.
Moving abroad (even for just a year) can be a daunting experience for a young individual … so smart move arranging a joint loan.
Hope they can help each other settle.
Austrian football is robust. If they can tough it out there’s a good chance they’ll come back closer to first team squad standard.
As for reduced allocations ….
… I personally don’t sweat it.
Their stadium.
Their gig.
Their world.
If “they” can fill it on their own?
Go for it.
We have no control over what clubs do at their own patch.
We do have control over our own ground no matter what the ‘ rulebook” states.
If we can’t look after our own fans, then who will ?
HH.
Tell opponents it will be ticket for ticket.
Except Huns, who get feck all.
Give visitors as small a section as we can get away with and get more of our own supporters in
Personally, I quite like the atmosphere when we have a sizeable Aberdeen crowd in attendance. OK , that atmosphere can evaporate rapidly when we go three up but ….
PRESTONPAN BHOYS
Cheers mate!
Ignore that BRRB ghuy!
The Korean bhoy Kwon looks like he is built like a brick shithouse, hopefully…..

When you asked about is it too early for the vino, I was just opening my second liter of very nice supermarket beer, still less than a euro a Lt, doubled in price in the last year, but still a nice drop, am an hour ahead so that’s my excuse, oh and it’s as hot as eff as well, far too hot for the vino.
Love to the family
TET
Just opened a bottle!
Currently 16 degrees here!
Lovin’ it!
Take care and best wishes.
RIP Trevor Francis …he had no time for their bigotry …including the green ink autograph signing episode 🤔
CARPE DIEM 63
Francis soon joined Souness at Rangers but remains disappointed at how things panned out.
He reveals a poignant moment when the pair were sitting in the sauna at Ibrox. Souness, aware Francis was feeling miffed about his lack of match action, turned to him and said:
“I am never going to sign a friend again”.
“But he did sign a Catholic!” adds Francis.
It’s easy to tell Francis, who grew up in Plymouth, was taken aback by what he describes, in his new book One In A Million,
“the sectarian mentality”.
He recalls being asked to sign an autograph outside Ibrox by a boy whose father scolded him for giving Francis a pen with green ink.
He also mentions the snooker tables inside Ibrox where the traditional green baize had been replaced by Rangers blue.
“Amazing!” he exclaims.

At which football ground did Trevor Francis play his first match as a million pound player?
Ron,
Did he not make his debut in the Final in Munich?

Video highlights of Maik Nawrocki
Can’t help get the feeling of Simunovic about him (and thats not a bad thing as he was a great defender with china doll like bones)

Clue. Forest bought him in February 1979 in the middle of one of the coldest winters on record. Most football pitches were frozen solid and unfit for play except for one identified by Ron Atkinson for a testimonial. Using his contacts across the game he arranged said testimonial.
The Hawthorns…
Met TF at a business show in Birmingham.
Regretted a few thingss.
RIP.
out on driving duties there talksport is running the danny baker interview with trevor, it is quite outstanding.
he credits John Robertson as being not only the best player in england at that time but the best in europe, that is some accolade in 78/79 when kenny was at the peak of his powers.
then retells the story for the malmo final it was archie gemmell and martin who declared themselves 100% fit, but clough was having none of it, told them at 11am they were not playing, and trevor would play at right midfield.
then says and martin became my closest friend from that forest team.
