  3. The political discourse is quite fascinating. From my own perspective what I see is the failure of left wing parties across the western world to redistribute wealth in a meaningful way. This has left the poorer sections of these societies disenfranchised. When that happens they want change. In the UK the collapse of the Labour Party has been filled by right wing nationalism (that is what the SNP are and it’s partly the reason for the brexit vote). When the poor turn to the right wing extremists for succour you get the rise of racism (and the likes of trump).

Reading green mans blueprint for anarchy I believe you may start to get your wish. Albeit this is all likely to end in a significant war as democracies become completely destabilised.

The SNP are, in my opinion, the most duplicitous anti Democratic Party of the lot. Their right wing agenda dressed up as national socialism is redolent of Germany in the 30’s.

Regardless I think the Labour Party has died but just hasn’t recognised it yet. I find that very very sad, but I know some of you will celebrate it. What follows now is chaos and our slid into anarchy.

    Good luck…….

This is what im driving at. If we see keep banging our heads collectively against this big rigged parliamentary wall, we cannot navigate ourselves away from the swamp.

You are right…the recent populism we have seen is a manifestation of people saying ‘WTF is going on’

Things are going to change rapidly now….imagine 10,15, 20 years of Conservative hatred….the poor, disabled, black, european, working-class, all classed as Tory enemies.

Only a complete revolution in thinking will break this illusion of democracy.

There is no democracy, never has been.

So if you had had your way at the referendum Scotland would be dealing with a 10% budget deficit right now. Today.

    How would that have worked?

Who do you think would be bearing the brunt of that right now? Today. In the real world.

  7. The Mark Walters racial abuse was a black mark against us no doubt,

But the mssm using it to try and justify the whataboutery is very selective,

Seem to rememberer Paul Wilson taking plenty racial abuse from huns and not just at the debt dome.

And Paul Elliot was classic example of their double standards as the same journalists outraged about Walters abuse became stone deaf when Elliot was subjected to it.

I think it was Mercer of Hearts who called out the Hearts fans and mssm’s lack of hearing on the treatment of Elliot at every ground in Scotland.

Jimmy, I would vote for an independent Scottish Republic with its own currency and self-determination. That will require increased taxation to pay for welfare and social reform. Out of the EU.

What I won’t vote for is a sham independence that supports the British Monarchy; is beholden to a foreign country (the rest of Britain or the EuroZone) for its currency; has fiscal policy dictated by a foreign bank (the Bank of England or the German banking system); and is governed economically by Brussels. That’s what the SNP are selling – all for their own aggrandisement. They have SFA to do with socialism or the betterment of the Scottish nation IMHO. Anyone who believes otherwise is in for a BIG wakeup call if we do get independence under this current crop!

Cannot disagree with most of your post; I’d written my response to Big Jimmy at 4:31 before I saw it (and TGM’s response) and you are right about the right wing elements of the SNP; I’m just surprised Der Hun haven’t latched onto that yet TBH.

For those who disagree, ask any number of English people living in Scotland what their view is on how they are (regularly) racially abused in Scotland. But that’s just “banter”, isn’t it?

    KTF

  15. Green man. I have a lot of sympathy in what you say.

The rise of populism is not however as it appears. It is not populism it is right wing racism.

I am hearing views expressed now that people making them would have been ashamed of a decade ago.

Since the 2nd world war we have had a relatively peaceful position. In the main our societies (western at least) progressed. In most instances so did the poor. But the last 20 years has seen a lack of progressive left wing wealth redistribution. It has brought us now to the place that our sense of order is falling apart.

This will not I’m afraid lead to a non violent revolution or a drawing of the map or political institutions. This will lead to chaos, anarchy and war.

I don’t see any way of stopping our decline. There will be no winners.

If it’s anarchy you want you’ve got it. I think looking back I had the very good fortune to live through a time of some social mobility and progressive politics. It was always hard fought and hard won.

Now it’s being swept aside. The poor have no leadership and are turning to their enemies who will of course betray them.

It’s a sad sad state of affairs.

If the SNP get their anti democratic way then Scotland’s future is very bleak indeed. Then again so are all our futures.

So rejoice green man. You will get your way.

    Pity our children though.

  20. Thank You Robinbhoy for introducing a little bit of Football talk on the Blog. The couple of days on here after the Ibrox Demolition job was a pure joy but I knew it wouldn’t last.

I totally agree with your list of possible likely candidates for the chop & agree with Bada Bing that Nir’s Celtic future could be in jeopardy also.

I think there could also be question marks over Liam Henderson & Gary Mackey-Steven, and I’d expect either Bailly or De Vries to go as well..

I don’t think it’s feasible that all on our extended list will go but I think we will see at least 7 or 8 gone, maybe 2 bought in and 2 or 3 of the younger set brought on to first team panel.

Watching the Development team against the Huns, I was really taken by Johnstone, thought he was terrific Ralston. Aitchison, Nesbitt & the Keeper all impressed as well,

Would Love to see some of those kids get a chance.

History will show you that people on the whole cannot put aside their differences and live peacefully, the history of man, is the inability to transcend disagreement, war and destruction. Politics and religion are a curse which has us under its spell.

Labour, SNP, Conservative, Liberal, and so on, is just the means to prevent solidarity between people.

If people cant agree, they fight….no politician will ever solve that.

On mornings after the night before elections such as this I am now even more convinced that we are racing to the precipice as a species. Full steam ahead.

The problem is money. The illusion of money.

Corporations run governments because they have their eye on national treasuries and the means of production and control. All Greed and filth and power and corruption and lies.

I see no way out of it other than say Bitcoins.(Thanks whitedoghunch)

However bitcoins means audit trails and corporations are hard wired to nuke the planet to maintain their survival. Its MAD. We are he only species that make our ecosystem less favourable for our offspring.

And in politics its not even discussed.

We want the world and we want it now.

  24. !!Bada Bing!! on

Corky- i thought GMS was on Robinbhoys list, he will go too, Henderson is a funny one, has the ability and can put it in too, we didn’t pay £3mil for Kouassi to sit on the bench….de Vries will be on really good money, need to move him on.The young GK looked good in Dev Squad, maybe keep Bailly and move him to No 3 GK.

  25. There were SNPand Labour MSP’s against staying in Europe and voted for the UK to leave, now we are being told by the SNP this is grounds for another independence referendum, it is an obvious weakness in their quest for this referendum however I hear nothing about it, are other parties not being heard or not pushing this line. I have no doubt the Tory gains are due to this issue as their campaign was about no to another independence vote, nothing to do with local services or local council issues.

Labour is a mess and appears to have an intellectual vacuum in its leadership and policies, and in my opinion weighed down by the Iraq war, where Scotland has forgotten the closure of Ravenscraig and the coal mines the Tories who did this are gaining MPs and councillors. Labour has not as yet anyway dealt with this, nationally it is still challenged on Trident and the responses vary depending who speaks, they lost Sellafield to the Tories due to the nuclear power station issue, I wonder if they care about being in power again and what they stand for, they cannot or do not communicate their policies effectively.

The SNP are not in any shape or form a party of centre left politics, it is an umbrella term for an organisation that wants independence, with no currency an English monarch an unknown GDP that exports whisky to anyone who wants it but tells us not to drink any more than 14 units a weeks due to health consequences of harmfull drinking they want us in Europe when the fishermen and farmers want out , they also do not carry out the democratic will of the Scottish Parliament as seen by their refusal to repeal the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act but scream and shout about the constituition when it suits them.

Thats my lot on politics a shower of rogues all of them.

  28. Chaps

    Do not despair.

The only way to change how things are is to change the thinking that creates how things are.

The problem with exchanging thinking is that language, written or verbal, is the only way we have to communicate our thoughts to one another.

Thus a change in the language used might help change how we think.

For example if instead of “independence” we thought “disintegration” and instead of “union” we thought if as “integration”, which would we choose?

We now live in a world where millions can exchange thinking via social media, but only if we think about what we are telling ourselves, question it and then pass on the right message.

Politics thrive on wrong thinking, philosophy depends on thinking right.

Is there a Philosophy Party I can vote for?

  29. Yep. Just checked back Bada & Robinbhoy had GMS on list.

The young Bhoy Hazard is 6ft 7 and looked extremely confident, I think he is one for the future.

Not sure who is best between Bailly, De Vries & Fassan but I’d keep one of them & promote Hazard to No.3.

The fact he is from Downpatrick and is an ex Gaelic Football player does not influence my opinion.
