WWS raffle updateCelticRollerCoaster and the Walk With Shay team kindly wrote this piece to update you how your efforts thus far have progressed.  I read stuff like this in genuine awe of the people I call friends.  Well done to each and everyone one of you.

I posted a more detailed (and excellent) read on the subject a moment ago, which you can view here.  Here’s CelticRollerCoaster:

As you know by now as part of our incredible journey to date, we managed to obtain the signatories of the last 11 Club Captains of Celtic on two tops; one home and one away. Two very special and unique tops covering 53 years of unbroken history. The professionally designed and framed Away Club Captains top is First Prize in our Walkwithshay raffle along with many other amazing Celtic prizes, with the draw being made on May 25th at Celtic Park so only 20 days left. The Celtic FC Foundation will also benefit in the share of proceeds.

To date, we’ve had an incredible response from all over the country and indeed worldwide (as far as Australia and Bermuda believe it or not) with just over 2,000 tickets already out there being sold by our amazing Green Raffle Army and directly by ourselves, but don’t worry we’ve kept some back just for you!

So, if you have still not bought your tickets, to win some of the incredible prizes on offer and also help these two great causes, please get in touch now.

Remember you can buy tickets by contacting the campaign team directly via the usual methods such as email walkwithshay@yahoo.com, Facebook and Twitter @walkwithshay or from one of our many Green Raffle Army sellers.

We will also be at outside the pools office at the start of the concourse (CQN corner) from 1:30pm prior to the game on Saturday if you wish to pick up tickets from us then.

As well, as the Club Captains Away top, our other amazing prizes include:

  1. Delighted with Patrick’s decision to stay until the end of the season, here’s hoping it is much longer and I hope that he gives the sheep a chasing in the Cup Final, it can only be a good thing for Celtic and we can plan to have him here until then at least.

Cheers mate for posting that GREAT NEWS about the wee Paddy Bhoy. MAGIC !

Any truth in the rumour that several Aberdeen defenders have already submitted ” Sick Lines” for that day ?

That news has cheered me up…no end !

  3. BIG-CUP-WINNERS….

It’s killing him how we are strolling it, whilst the fabrication he loves just gets more embarrassing by the day.

I had two comments in work this week…the first was second hand…I can tolerate a slagging but that Fenian bassas smirk kills me, that was me he was talking about :)))

The second was from a wee hun, whilst talking about the shitey shifts we’re on, he said it could be worse….you could support Rangers. Other than that football is not mentioned by thems. ☘☘☘☘☘☘

Paddy Roberts to play in Cup Final

    ==============================

And the pitiful Hun hacks weep into their mugs of turps. Cue ‘no ambition’ slurs on Paddy for the next few weeks.

As for football – yes, go soccer, politico kids! – St.Johnstone at home near the end of the season always bugs me as a bannan skin. Probably harks back to the fingernail-shredding 9th May 1998 and the breathless moment George Boyle headed over from 6 yards with an open goal just before half-time; IIRC.

Survived that one – the ultimate Celtic f####-yer-10iar-high followed an hour later – but the last couple of campaigns they’ve come to CP and popped the balloon.

Seems like they have developed a habit of putting a spanner in the joy works at this time of the year.

Saturday, it matters more than ever. History but a handful of undefeated games away; sometihng that we may not have the chance to witness again in our lifetimes.

It’s going to feel like a cup final tomorrow morning. A bizarre kind of anticipation for what is usually a meaningless league game at this stage.

    Excellent. ;))

    4-0 the Hoops!

  5. Lets say Brendan can bring in 2 first team players which 2 positions should he go for? Centre half and..?

  10. Captain Scott Brown begins a two-match suspension as Scottish Premiership champions Celtic host St Johnstone.

Defender Mikael Lustig will be rested and striker Moussa Dembele is missing with a hamstring problem.

Gamboa to start, Ralston on bench, Armstrong to captain and hopefully a sighting of Mickey Johnstone

  11. I despair! I really do!

My nom de blog is sadly too relevant to the modern world.

Prince Phillip’s announcement of his intention to retire soon earns him twelve minutes coverage as the main item on BBC news.

    ——————————————————————-

Aye ole Phil is a bit of a walloper, but read this in Herald today …seems he knows a wee bit aboot fitba.

Years ago when Campbell Ogilvie (spit) was at UEFA reception in London he was

introduced to Prince Phil and explained that although he was there representing

the SFA ,he was director of a football club.

“Celtic?” asked the Duke,”They’ve had a great season.”When Ogilvie replied that

it was in fact Rangers (ole mob), the chooky replied.” They’re as bad as Partick

Thistle ,” thus managing to antagonise twp sets of fans.

Aye the jags will not be happy being associated with the huns.

  13. I’m fed up with people moaning about people morning about people moaning about people who moan about other people except those moaning about people proclaiming We Are The People. I think.

  14. I can’t understand why people are calling for youngsters tomorrow, St Johnstone will be there to be beaten and I for one hope to see the strongest side possible against them and them put to the sword, swiftly and without mercy..

    We owe them..

  15. Back to basics at 18.59

I hold the BBC to a different standard – funded lavishly by the public – they should do much better than the others.

Who is paid more by the public, BBC or SKY? With SKY you pay a massive monthly charge + advertising at every opportunity which adds to costs of shopping, etc. And what you get in return is an undiluted right wing agenda, directed by a foreign power. But we don’t know what the key SKY people get paid. We had to fight to the last to get some clarity about their phone-tapping and their collusion with the police.

I know who I trust more. Having said that, the BBC services in Scotland are way below standard and we deserve better.

100% Agree, we should set up to take 3 points from them. No risks!!

If they are the only team to take 3 points from us this season, they better damn well have to earn it!

Expect Brendan already knows … ;-)

  17. The Ferguslie and Shettleston results are a small part of a backwash which kicked off with the financial crash of 2008. Identity politics and nationalist politics have never been so attractive for so many. Putin in Russia, Trump in the US, Modi in India, Le Pen in France, Farage in the UK and to a more moderate extent Salmond and Sturgeon here have all won a watch from this witch’s brew..

Why do you say ` a centre half` when we have Simunovic and Boyata ?

  19. I hope there is futures ,at Celtic for G M S,and Liam Henderson,as for John McGinn, not for me,but the player we paid 3 million for,up till now hasn’t been in the starting eleven?but time will tell,

Call me old fashioned but I would like to see us go through the season unbeaten and I have an inkling the manager and the players would too, winning mentality all the way through till the end and put the fear of God into the opposition next year.

Undefeated Treble Winning Champions Of Scotland into the pre season and qualifiers!

  22. If we had a Kieran Tierney clone at Right Back and either Paddy Roberts for another year or a consistent James Forrest, I would feel fairly confident for our CL venture.

    Gordon

    KT 2 Simunovic, Boyata, Tierney.

    Roberts/Forrest Brown ,Armstrong, Rogic/McGregor, Sinclair.

    Dembele.

That would do for me and we would still have a strong bench.

Why do you say ` a centre half` when we have Simunovic and Boyata ?

    JJ

I would go for a centre half because I think we are strong in most areas of the park but I’m not 100% on that partnership for Europe.
