Waste management in Buckinghamshire

868

News that a new company, “Glasgow Rangers Limited”, has been registered today with an address matching a waste management company in Buckinghamshire, has delicious irony but in itself means little.  After Rangers owner, Craig Whyte, laid out all sorts of medium-term scenarios for the club in media interviews last week a land-rush for fresh rangers intellectual property, including a company name, should be expected.

If those with secured property rights over Ibrox are busy forming a new company, they are unlikely to be the only ones.

Still, waste management.  It’s perfectly scripted.

I’ll stop making excuses for them if you stop being wilfully ignorant of the facts.

Question. Would Rangers have been able to employ the same quality of player had they chosen to pay their players in the normal way? Please remember that far from being ‘years ago’ they were using the EBT scheme until 2010 ie during the current 3-in-row.

As far as I’m concerned the strategy here is no “staying just ahead of them”, it is “living within our means”. Had they not cheated our ‘means’ would be a lot higher and therefore so would the quality on display.

  14. Saint Baldred is not to be confused with Jobo Baldie, amateur meteorologist and exciseman of this parish.

Although I expect Baldred would occasionally emerge from his cave to see if it was still rainin’ and blowin’ a gale [yes].

  15. Really wasn’t impressed by Hooper on Sunday. Also he does get regularly kicked lumps out of. Maybe tonight would be good to drop him to bench. I admit to really make the decision you’d have to know his mindset and fitness. (in other words, be Lenny).

But I’d like to see young George and Paddy playing from the start, at the expense of Hooper and James Forest.

It’s so tempting to say ‘the Bhoy George’ :-) , thankfully I resisted.

I applaud your suggestions regarding questions for the SFA to answer on the matter of Rangers’ UEFA licence application.

However, do you think it is likely that the SFA is will do anything other that its utmost to dodge this issue?

Also, how can we awkward types ensure the necessary enquiry gets carried out, to the extent we would like?

I have a feeling that most member clubs of the SFA are sh1t scared at the prospect of the Foe Malign being wound up (or even scaled down to the size they ought), both from the prospect of reduced revenues, as well as the usual pro-Rangers sentiment.

Who can (or will) drive forward such an enquiry? Would Celtic, Hearts, Dundee Utd, Hibs, or whoever, see it in their interest to do this? Can we fans do this for ourselves? Can we (realistically) expect UEFA to take an interest and open its own investigation?

Furthermore, if it turns out to be the case that the SFA failed to process The Stickies’ application correctly (or even thoroughly), I think it’s as likely that this would have been due to a lack of the necessary talent/skills at the SFA. That’s not me making an excuse for it [the SFA], since I also think it likely that institutional bias may have influenced the processing of this application. They’re unlikely to want to admit to this, though it might actually turn out to be their best option.

  17. in the general adulation surrounding him.

He’s had some good games(Hearts A, despite the defeat, was imo his best game this season) but also a fair few poor to wretched displays.

This isn’t meant as a criticism of Charlie, who I’d love to do well, but as a defence of players like big Dan, who seem to endure a far bigger

  18. of criticism than is their due.

Let’s look at Dan’s howlers, to start off with. St Johnstone, where despite not being culpable for the goal, he seemed to crumble mentally under fan abuse, leading to him lumping balls out the park, Sion away, where he got himself sent off in the first minute. All well and duff.

Have people forgotten Aberdeen 1-0, Dundee Utd 5-1, Sion 0-0, St Mirren 2-0, Ross County 2-0 (where he carried Kelvin Wilson in the first half), Inverness 2-0, Udinese 1-1, and the Hearts 2-0 where he played very well, and the recent Aberdeen game?

Yes, he has had some stinkers – getting sent off in Sion being the low point – but as a defender, despite the calamitous nature to his play when his confidence drops, he has played more consistently than the rest.

  24. Those concerned about the affect the demise of the exhuns will have on us would do well to remember that any potential revenue loss for tv monies etc (yeah right) would be more than offset by Champions League revenue (presuming we would qualify)

I understand why people would be suspicious about the eventual outcome for the exhuns because we have become used to them cheating there way out of any tight situations with help from the SFA and their widespread brethren. This time it’s different.

Regardless of the outcome of administration or whatever guise it takes, the long term outlook for them at the very least is much reduced circumstances. Even after the tax bills have been disposed of they are going to have to cut their cloth according to their income and that is going to hurt, and hurt like hell.

Poorer team on the pitch and vastly reduced attendances and merchandising revenue etc off of it.

I think that when they do go “pop” it will be a time for great rejoicing because this time, at long last, i’s a game changer and I for one will not hold back with my GIRUT celebrations.

  25. Look – just before I sue all of you.

Can I ask you a question? Rhetoric? Most definitely. But I’m sure you’ll find it helpful in the extreme.

Do you honestly believe that my mighty predecessor Sir David Minty would sell the club he held so dear to a man with no money?

I mean, I may not have the backstreet provenance of Sir Minty in matters such as selling knock-off Chipie sweatshirts to my mates in Ayrshire – true. But let’s just say, with the greatest respect, that’s why he’s only got one bongdillion.

Whereas my business provenance has been obfuscated for all the world to miss. And due to debilitating shyness and almost hermit like desire for privacy I never, ever like to transmit the notion that I’m a Bongdillionaire. Did you get that? Bongdillionaire. The aire bit means I’ve got more than one bongdillion.

But no. Time and again you’ll all bait me with scandalous facts about my past, driving me from my privacy straight into the suing courts.

Hopefully this will put all your minds at rest. Especially BrogoRogoTrevogo and Hogo and that Phil Silvers chap. But remember – if you even dare to think otherwise. Dream it even. You’ll wake up to a writ.

The Bass Rock is a Bird Sanctuary, home to a large number of Gannets. The rock is currently uninhabited, but historically has been settled by an early Christian hermit, and later was the site of an important castle, which was, after the Commonwealth, used as a prison. The island was in the ownership of the Lauder family for almost six centuries, and now belongs to Sir Hew Fleetwood Hamilton-Dalrymple. A lighthouse was constructed on the rock in 1902, and the remains of a chapel are located there.

Maybe the new Blue Gannets would like to visit the Chapel to repent their many sins.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that. I dont know whether they mean he’s not physically the same, or if it’s in some way a mental thing? That’s what I was thinking of when I said you’d really need to be Lenny to know whether dropping or resting him would be a good idea or not. Man management is an area that supporters can only guess at I think.

Summer of 2008, Ranger loose to Kaunus and our out of all.european competition. Celtic mysteriously shelve all transfer targets to strengthen the defence

January 2009, Rangers try and get rid of Boyd, Celtic are 9 points clear and refuse to back the manager to buy Fletcher, we instead sign Wilo Flood for £50k and implode in the league.

May 2011, just loose out on the league, win SC.

  32. In the NFL it is common to find that when a player has a great rookie year their second year is disappointing. It could be injuries, or opponent game plans taking them into account which they didn’t before, or more players being aware of how they play. Perhaps Hooper is suffering from teams knowing how best to keep him quiet.
