Waste management in Buckinghamshire

868

News that a new company, “Glasgow Rangers Limited”, has been registered today with an address matching a waste management company in Buckinghamshire, has delicious irony but in itself means little.  After Rangers owner, Craig Whyte, laid out all sorts of medium-term scenarios for the club in media interviews last week a land-rush for fresh rangers intellectual property, including a company name, should be expected.

If those with secured property rights over Ibrox are busy forming a new company, they are unlikely to be the only ones.

Still, waste management.  It’s perfectly scripted.

I think the Football First creditor rule applies only in England (and HMRC are challenging it). HMRC’s “leverage” will come from being owed over 25% of the debt unless the total debt figure can be inflated to make their share below 25%.

Don’t ask me how the full debt could be inflated to over £200M – creative accounting – but Rangers are past masters at that.

    SonsofErin,

Thats the one, they know they went in under the wrong umbrella, they no longer consider themselves creditors as they ave made no credit agreement, they are the law of the land and will be making this clear, any judge will be looking at this from a completely different argument.

  9. Dwont know who is fit anymore for Celtic as changes every hour never mind week, but WE MUST get through to next round so 4-5-1 tomorrow for me. HH

So you wouldn’t be happy with them going into administration and us winning by 9 points? I suppose you wouldn’t want any champagne then?!

In all seriousness I get where you’re coming from and it would be nice to win it simply by winning more points than them, but I won’t be complaining if it were to transpire from a 10 point deduction.

By the same token, it didn’t make it any less painful for us as Celtic fans losing leagues to them when they had the (yet to be confirmed) illegal financial structure to run their club during Advocaat’s days or the farcical refereeing decisions which helped them week after week during their current 3 in a row.

Nope, I would celebrate long into the night.

  11. We must play our strongest team tomorrow night. Despite recent performances, at the moment our aim and prize is still a treble.

    Keep the dream alive Celtic.

  12. The Honest Mistake (Sickened) on

    Sonsoferin, canamalar.

The football creditors rule doesn’t apply in Scotland. Clubs etc aren’t preferential creditors here. There is no point in using England as an examPle of what will happen to them.

As regards what we discuss on here. I doubt very much it will make a difference to matters on the field if we are slagging off the board/players/Neil Lennon or discussing the potential demise of the tax dodgers. These things will run their course regardless.

    THM,

so why would whyte manoeuvre himself into secured creditor position if there is no such thing as a preferred creditor ??

    TET,

I’m saying, the taxman will be paid off in full before any creditors are paid, the taxman is not a creditor, has no credit agreement. The law of the land is if you want to operate a business then you must pay the taxes, taxes are not a line of credit.

  20. I have no idea what our strongest team is, as I believe it’s an outdated concept. Our strongest team isn’t necessarily our best players. It may be our fit players, but even then. And this explains why Ledley is played at left-back on Saturday – he’s more due a place in the team than ElKaddouri, but less so that Kayal and Ki. Our strongest team indeed consists of players who aren’t close to the first XI (M Wilson) but can’t include those who are out injured (K Wilson, Brown even). A long road around the short-cut of – start the team which started against Aberdeen (Dan for Glen) for as many games as possible from now on.

Two companies featuring the name Glasgow Rangers have been officially registered by a man based in Buckinghamshire.

Glasgow Rangers Football Club Limited and Glasgow Rangers Limited were registered with Companies House.

Their sole director is Gerard Moran. He has not responded to requests for further information.

The registrations show no evidence of a connection with the current management at the Ibrox club.

Rangers finances have been under scrutiny in recent months, with some speculation the club could be placed in administration by its main shareholder and creditor Craig Whyte.

Last week former director Donald McIntyre won his legal bid to have £300,000 of the club’s assets frozen pending a breach of contract case.

Rangers’ former chief executive Martin Bain has also had £480,000 of cash ring-fenced.

More than £2m of the club’s money is currently frozen in a separate tax dispute with HM Revenue and Customs.

Boys is Mr Whyte upto no good here ie does this debt disappear if 2 new businesses are opened and rangers name changed I’m lost but no doubt he is upto no good.

  24. The Honest Mistake (Sickened) on

Canamalar. I didn’t say that there was no preferred creditors, I said football creditors are not preferred in Scotland.

The rule is preferred/secured creditors like whyte are paid in full before normal creditors like hmrc, season ticket holders, Joe the plumber and then last in the list are the shareholders. Hmrc will probably get little of what they are owed but the corpse of rangers will be crushed for every last piece of blood. But then comes the Phoenix.

  26. THM – fair enough, thanks for clearing that up.

However there remains the Lloyds/CW 18m which is a secured creditor and a risk to HMRC receiving their due in administration. They will seek to remove this status.

    TET,

what I’m saying is, when the taxman, makes his move and their status as a creditor is referred to court, he is not trying to be considered a secured creditor, he is HMRC the taxman, with no creditor responsibilities or status. A completely different set of rules will have to be ruled on. This will force the courts to make a new judgement which is part of the taxman’s strategy.

It doesnt matter if this case is made in scotland or england it will be a test case.

It is possible that Rangers were economical with the truth of what they told the SFA. Celtic would have no way of knowing how Rangers proved to the SFA that there was no overdue tax as specified in the rules.
