WATCH AGAIN: BALL BHOY BERNARDO AND CELEBRATING KYOGO

KYOGO FURUHASHI looked the most relieved person at rain-lashed Parkhead yesterday when he raced clear to tuck the breakthrough goal into the Livingston net within a minute of the restart.

The Japanese striker, with 62 goals for the Hoops since his £4.6million arrival from Vissel Kobe in July 2021, had fired blanks the previous seven outings in a frustrating sequence for the prolific marksman.

Kyogo claimed the champions’ second in the 6-0 rout of Aberdeen in the east end of Glasgow on November 12, but then embarked on an unexpected – and unwanted – barren run.

SMACK ON THE KISSER…Kyogo Furuhashi celebrates with the match ball.

The 28-year-old international hitman failed to register against Motherwell, Lazio, St Johnstone, Hibs, Kilmarnock, Feyenoord and Hearts before whipping a close-range effort behind Jack Hamilton as he brought a halt to the saga and propelled the champions towards a 2-0 triumph.

On-loan Benfica midfielder Paulo Bernardo provided a neat touch when he retrieved the ball from the Livi net and presented it to his celebrating team-mate as he acknowledged the cheers of the supporters.

Kyogo accepted the gift, planted smacker on it – and then got on with the game.

The moment deserves a second look courtesy of those good people at Celtic TV Unique Angle.
