MIKA BAUR pounced to score his first goal for Celtic at McDiarmid Park last night – and it proved to be the matchwinner in a tense encounter against St Johnstone.
The Little Big Man in the champions’ midfield had the final say on this occasion while the Hoops forward line lacked a genuine goal threat.
Martin O’Neill’s decision to rest in-form Camilo Duran looked like backfiring throughout a first-half where home keeper Toby Steward wasn’t exactly overworked.

JOY BHOY…Mika Baur celebrates his points-clincher in Perth.
Sebastian Tounekti appeared to lack the urge to get to the line and deliver crosses that are required for a striker such as Kasper Hogh.
O’Neill may have had a word in the ear of the infuriatingly unpredictable Tunisian wide man at the interval to express a desire to see him provide ammo for the frontmen.
Shortly after the turnaround, Tounekti did hit the byline on the left before swinging in an inviting cross. It created chaos in the Saints’ penalty box before Hogh managed to nudge the ball to Haissem Hassan to his right.
The Egyptian sorcerer took a touch to get away from a defender before whipping a low cross towards the back post and Baur emerged to tuck the ball in from four yards.
Games are won and lost in such moments.
The strike is certainly worth a second look, courtesy of those good folk at CelticPlayer Unique Angle.
