BENJAMIN NYGREN took to the air to make sure Celtic got off to a flying start to the Premiership campaign.
The Swedish midfielder was the champions’ top scorer last season with 21 goals – four more than Daizen Maeda – but, remarkably hadn’t hit the net at Parkhead since his consolation effort in the 2-1 loss to Hibs on February 22.
Nygren fired blanks on four occasions in a row in the east end of Glasgow, but, thankfully, he rectified that situation against Dundee as Martin O’Neill’s side launched their bid for a sixth successive title.

It took until the 52nd minute for the Hoops to claim the barrier-breaking strike – and it was a beauty.
Kieran Tierney whipped in an inviting cross from the left and Nygren timed his run perfectly before rising gracefully to flick a header wide of static keeper Owen Goodman for the matchwinner.
One down…and just 20 to go to match last season’s tally.
