WATCH AGAIN: CELTIC TO THE FOUR

CELTIC went on a four-goal rampage against thunderstruck Motherwell as they powered to a 12-point lead at the Premiership pinnacle in their quest for a fourth successive title.

The Fir Park side stubbornly resisted the champions’ attempt at a breakthrough strike following the previous weekend’s 0-0 draw with Dundee United at Tannadice.

However, the floodgates were opened a minute before the interval when Arne Engels stroked home his fourth penalty-kick since his £11million record recruitment on deadline day.

Daizen Maeda, Nicolas Kuhn and Reo Hatate joined the shooting gallery in a one-sided second period as the visitors collapsed under the onslaught from Brendan Rodgers’ team.

REO BRAVO…Japanese ace Hatate is congratulated by Anthony Ralston and Luke McCowan after netting Celtic’s final goal in the 4-0 romp against Motherwell.

The curtain comes down on 2024 when St Johnstone visit Paradise on Sunday as Celtic say farewell to a year in which they won the crown for the 54th time in their history, added the Scottish Cup on the iconic date of May 25 when Adam Idah rammed in the late winner against Philippe Clement’s runners-up.

And the Ibrox club were vanquished again in the Premier Sports League Cup Final on December 15 as the Hoops cleaned up the domestic silverware.

Now the Perth Saints provide the opposition at the weekend before 2025 kicks off with a visit to Ibrox on January 2 as Rodgers’ meet and beat the weekly challenges.
